I take it Stepan isn't playing in this one?
I don't think they've said officially, but if he had that surgery yesterday there is no way he would play tonight, no matter how tough he is.

Can someone explain, why a linesman is allowed to put his hands on a player? Seems a little unfair to me, linesman can put his hands on the player, you touch him and get 10 games.

I hear you dude.
3 hours to go ... daaaaaaamn
I think he said "no timeframe", not that he's out for sure tonight... but again, my assumption is that he would be out for at least the next 6-7 days if he has the surgery yesterday. The way AV said it, it sounded like he had the surgery today.
I would support Satan himself against Club du Hypocrite.
Go Rangers Go !

I shouldn't post on the GDT - I have a superstition that every time I do, we lose.
But I think you are completely off base here. A player is only as good as the situation that he is put in. Poo was put in a top 6 role his entire career and failed. Vigneault put him on the 3rd line and, situationally, he has turned out to be an excellent player.
Boyle has been one of our best players throughout the post season. He would be completely out of place on the first line with Kreider and Nash.
You put players in a position that optimizes their talent. Moore has offensive ability, but what makes him one of our "best players in the post season" is the fact that these abilities are better than comparable players on comparable lines. He's an exceptional 4th liner and penalty killer. Exceptional.
But I think the decision to put him on the first line will be as successful as AV's decision to make Stepan, Nash, and MSL our first line, too. The strength of our offense this season has been the balance. Having Moore on the 4th line only means that we tinker with 1 line's chemistry. Putting him on the 1st means that 2 of our lines will now be new. I think that's a lot bigger of a disadvantage than putting Miller on the 1st line - with a player he already has chemistry with from the AHL - for the first 2 periods, and then being able to substitute D. Moore into that line for defensive situations in the 3rd period.
But hey, I guess to each his own. Torts' mentality of playing players in positions that they weren't optimized clearly worked out for him.
Which Montreal line does Scott Gomez play on?
No, he said he's out. He was directly asked if Stepan was out tonight and he open his palms and nodded with a look like yeah, he's out.
Again, you're right considering we won't know until 8pm. It seems like Miller is in though, which means Steps is out.
Finishing work in 1 hour. Time to drive home, take a bath and be ready by the time the pre-game starts on MSG at 1:30 AM
Work on Sunday ... ugh. I'm already ready, have to waste time until then ... a gf would be quite handy right now![]()
I wanted to say that the Habs themselves are Satan, but I don't think Satan is that terrible a being.
Yeah that's all well and good, but Miller isn't a viable NHL center at this point in his career. I'd rather have a competent player between two of our better wingers than a kid who hasn't shown that he's ready for the show. We're not talking about a Kreider situation. We're talking about putting in a rookie with zero defensive prowess between two of our top wingers. Kreider was in the lineup as a 3rd line winger seeing favorable zone starts.
But hey, we heard the same narrative about Kreider until he finally proved he was ready, so why not with JT Miller? Would expect nothing less.
Moore is a better NHLer, better center, and more effective offensive player right now than Miller has shown in his entire NHL career. "Optimizing talent" is just another way of saying "spoonfeed our prospect ice time".
I think you've answered yourself quite well right there...?![]()
