Riz responded, he is going to try to look into the issue sometime over the day or two. Things like this completely demotivate and bum me out, I put all this detail work into the database for the game to completely go sideways on me.
I've compared the NHL transfer rules and structure against last year's DB and I see nothing standing out.

One thing I think I notice is that it's only in the NHL that it's happening. Don't see it in the AHL or ECHL
I think I've resolved this issue, it is an AI issue but I did have to nerf or beef up specific players and the rotation looks good. There was also a schedule issue involving the ASG that may have been playing into this. Only outstanding issue right now involves the KHL, which I do need Riz's help on.
I'm hitting this error on August 15th if the KHL is enabled, its something with the transfer rules but I can't figure out what, I've reverted my minor changes and matched last year and I'm still hitting this issue.

I didn’t run KHL in either test (that one i have touched) but I’ll try it next time I do it.
Restored the Pivot DB back to the July 7th update, this appears to be a more stable version, be patient as I'm still working through issues and trying to find a path forward.
No worries, we can't ever thank you enough for the free work you're putting for the game!

Just to discuss symptoms on the goalie thing, what I find odd is that sometimes the backup goalie aren't even replacement level goalies. Sometimes it's guys who are like 19 year old back up OHL goalies.

I can confirm I found a way to fix saves impacted by the July 2029/2030 crash.
1) Load the save in the Editor
2) Export Players & Non-Players
3) Open the file and go all the way to the right, filter on Column EA (League Contracted) to [None]
4) These are the players/non-players assigned directly to a National team, which are causing the crash.
5) Use the editor to set the Club Contracted & Club Playing to [None] thus making them a free agent. Do this for all players/staff listed, don't change or touch anything else.
6) Save the Saved Game
7) Resume playing!
This does not fix the goalie rotation issue, I'm still waiting to hear back from Riz on that.

Riz is still debugging it we don't quite know, but my guess is corruption within the Fixture Rules for the NHL, deleting the NHL league structure which contains the transfer/fixture rules and importing a working copy resolved the issue. Riz can tell us what to look for when/if it happens again and maybe we can somehow catch it in the editor.
There was similar odd fixture rule corruption with the KHL I experienced with the same DB, and that was what fixed it.. I decided to try it on a hunch and it worked.

Was there something specific you changed, or just imported the same exact one?
I’ve had that happen more than once where a working structure either didn’t work or crashed the save when I had copied it exactly, and doing the same thing made it work again, but they were always lower leagues that I was already building.
In typical EHM fashion the issue was so stupid, I accidentally or purposely who knows, changed the priority of the NHL schedule to 1 from 11 which made the regular season get treated like preseason.
