HF Habs: Early Bird Mock Draft 2022 (COMPLETED!)

This young player has killed in the Swedish U18 and scored well in the U20's in limited games. He's one of the youngest prospect available with an early November 2004 b'day. He has lots of growing and maturing to do, and the Montreal Canadiens are more than willing to allow this kid to grow into the player he will become. From Leksand the Habs are proud to select, C/LW Hannes Hellberg.

@Toene PM'ed and I'll post a summary

This draft had me on the horns of a dilemma strategically on any number of occasions. First off, 2nd overall – do you go with the very skilled yet somewhat diminutive center, a big winger with a high ceiling and yet to be determined floor or one of two right handed defensemen – the first being a physical specimen, the other – a cerebral, talented kid. With the dearth of prospects up the middle except for Kidney at this point - went Cooley from an organizational point of view (personally, I think Nemec might just be the BPA over time – or maybe most valuable to his team is a better way of stating it, we shall see).

All in all, very happy with the level of skill, size and depth of talent available - even after the top 75 to 100 or so. Glad to be able to restock the proverbial cupboard primarily with centers, left wingers and RHD (even chose Duda who more often than not plays on his off side). Thanks to everyone involved – and Markov’s Knee for doing such a quality job of hosting.

Pittsburgh Penguins are proud to select, from the North Bay Battalion F Owen Van Steensel

Even if he doesn't have the best size, he got the speed and motor you're looking for and he can make at a high pace.

Next GM have been PM
Don't forget to post your draft.

Thanks for participating

Sorry for the delay guys, fell asleep in front of the game...

With the 217th pick, Tampa Bay Lightning is proud to select, from the USNTDP Juniors in the USHL, LHD Seamus Powell.

Smooth-skating 2-way rearguard with a good first pass, moves his feet quickly up the ice when he has the puck, has to become way more assertive in that regard though if he wants a sniff at the next levels.

25. F Marco Kasper
103. F Reid Schaefer
153. F Beau Jelsma
169. LHD Alexander Pelevin
185. F Brody Crane
217. LHD Seamus Powell

@Pompeius Magnus and Boston are next, and will be PMed.

(my next pick will be ready, it's very soon)

With pick #218, the Boston Bruins are happy to select, from the Sudbury Wolves of the OHL,forward Evan Konyen .

'' Konyen isn't big, but he has proven to be an excellent complementary piece on a scoring line because of his quickness and finishing ability. He can drive pace with the puck on his stick and possesses an excellent array of shots. At the very least, Konyen could be a top notch goal scorer in the OHL as soon as next season, playing on a talented Sudbury first line with Goyette and Musty '' .

@Weber Fan is up next.

Smallish but talented is the name of the game for my crop this year :laugh: I tried to at least get decent skill levels for all the late picks and ended up leaning heavy on the OHL and guys I know a bit better about. Big thanks to @MarkovsKnee for another fun mock draft and to all who participated . See you guys around :thumbu:
