Just an FYI to everybody - while we probably won't get any information about GM mode, the NHL 15 reveal is set for tomorrow (Monday). Worth paying attention too

Hey All, I'm back! I decided to do something a bit...different. I decided to create my own team. Here's what I did:
I created the Seattle Firebirds(replaced Phoenix) BUT I replaced all of their players with ones in FA so that the Phoenix players could sign with other teams. I also created Quebec City Vikings and I used Florida as their base for players, just to add something different to the GM Mode.
Expect a write-up soon.
Rules:
Trade difficulty: HARD
Salary Cap: ON
GM Difficulty: HARD
Waivers: ON
I CANNOT sign ANY of the let go Phoenix players.

Big Changes Around the NHL!

Just days after the 2013 Stanley Cup play-offs ended, there was some Huge news. First off, the Florida Panthers were sold to some business men from Quebec City and they relocated the team to Quebec and became the Vikings.
Then, a day later, the rumored group from Seattle looking to buy the NHL owned Phoenix Coyotes, happened. And, much like the Panthers, the 'Yotes were relocated to Seattle and becomes the Firebirds. All the staff from the Coyotes organization, executives, coaches, trainers and even the players, were released from their contracts! As a result all of the players became free agents just days before the 2013 draft!

I'll have the draft summary in a few.

Really! He was just making it because otherwise he would be under the salary floor or whatever it is called, right?

Beginning of a New Era!

As we had found out just before the draft of the moving of the then Coyotes to Seattle and the now Firebirds, now begins the new Era of one of the 2 newest teams to the NHL. No formal announcement was made about the executive, or coaching positions, but the group, including Seattle Seahawks owner Paul Allen, that purchased the Firebirds is holding a press conference to announce such positions.
"We have wanted an NHL franchise in Seattle for some time now, and for it to come to fruition is beyond words. I'd like to thank the NHL and Commissioner Gary Bettman for allowing us to move the team here to Seattle, it means everything to us to have the team in our own backyard so to speak. We'd also like to apologize to the fans of the old Coyotes. We know it must be hard, but when the team was in as much financial difficulty as it was, the move was necessary.
I'd also like to introduce to you our new General Manager of the Firebirds Mark Morrison. Mark is a fresh face, someone we know can provide a good outlook on the team, and build for the future."
Mark: "Thanks Paul for your kind words. I can't wait to begin at being this new teams first General Manager. The move from Phoenix to Seattle included the letting go of our coaching staff, so I'd like to announce that we have signed Barry Trotz to be our new head coach. He will have a few days to compile the roster and assign any captaincies."

December Update for the Vikings

Well, we all knew it would be a long and painful process, and it has been rightly so. With a record of 1 win in 26 games, things aren't looking good, or they are, depending on whom you talk with. Many fans are excited at the possibility of drafting a new franchise Center in Sam Reinhart or Sam Bennett, as well as a franchise defense man in Aaron Ekblad. "They realize its a long process and it takes time to build primarily through the draft, just ask Edmonton. Okay, poor example *chuckles* but you understand what I'm saying."
Here's a look at the teams stats for the season so far.

Record:
1-24-1 : 3 Points
7th in Pacific Division
14th in Western Conference
30th in NHL
1.38 GFPG - 30th in NHL
4.88 GAPG - 30th in NHL
17.8% on PP - 8th in NHL **
72.1% on PK - 14th in NHL **

Team Stats Leaders:
Goals: Chouinard with 9
Assists: Nylander with 9
+/- Bouvet-Morrissett at 0*
PIMS: Benson with 66
Wins: Cann with 1 :yo:

*Has not played a game for us.
** I have NO idea how we are not last in these 2 categories as well! :amazed:

End of Year Report

Well, the first season of the brand new Vikings has come to an end. It was a very lop sided season as the players they signed completely under performed.
"We thought that the players we signed would be better, of course. But it is only our first season after letting all of our previous NHL players go. We knew it would be a transitional phase this year and it most certainly was." Says GM Mark Morrison
