Friedman: Dylan Larkin requests trade, Part II

  • If you are having issues logging in, we have found opening the log in page in a new tab/window rather than using the pop out should resolve these issues. We are working to get this resolved and thank you for patience.
  • Due to the increased volume of league transactions, the Trade Rumors and Free Agent Talk section is temporarily restricted to where threads may only be started by moderators and sponsors. We anticipate that this restriction will be lifted some time after the first round of the draft.
Haha get real. Larkin is the one asking for a trade. The return is most likely going to be futures and a decent roster player

Ok then, take your picks and random secondary players and try to go wrangle something that fits that package. Heck, I doubt Larkin accepts a trade to NJ anyways so there's no point in wasting time here.

Hischier should be getting notably more than 10 million.

Wouldn't be surprised at $100M / 8 years.

You are completely missing the point of what I was saying. It doesn't matter if it is 10 million or 12.5.
New Jersey is not going to keep all three of Hughes, Larkin and Hischier which is why the Wings fans ask for Hischier as part of any Larkin deal.

Easy

Jack Larkin bratt
Gritsyuk Nico Timo

But we want nothing to do with trading our captain and I’m pretty sure the extension is already done just hasn’t been announced yet

I think Larkin gets a first prospect and roster player similar to the Bo horvat trade who was younger

It is highly unlikely Larkin is going to NJ. We haven't heard NJ is even on his list for starters and without Hischier I doubt there is a lot of pieces Detroit would want.

So let's just move on and wait to see what he gets traded for.

We don’t fully know how limited the suitors are. And considering Bowen Byram just got #4 + I would say more than that
Does Det want futures? Cause all but the Kyrou deal was roster player for futures.

Is Det able to do what Ott did as they really either need to make a 3 way trade or do 2 separate trades if they want NHL roster players back for Larkin.

Galaxy Brain strat.

Detroit offer sheets JROB.

Then they turn around and trade JROB and Larkin to Chicago for four Chicago firsts and Frondell.

Then Detroit trades ABC to Philly or Boston for the Leafs 2027 pick and a prospect.

Detroit now has the Frondell and four Chicago firsts.

They trade Frondell and the four Chicago firsts to Vancouver for Elias Pettersson and 4 Canucks firsts.

Then Detroit simply waits for Vancouver to suck.

2027 - With the first overall pick the Detroit Red Wings would like to select Landon Dupont.

So many of you completely misread the post. Robertson isn't getting dealt to Detroit. He's getting dealt to another team and these assets are getting flipped to Detroit for Larkin.

I wonder if a three team deal can be worked out:
* (Sign and trade for) Robertson and Cossa to Utah
* Larkin and Simashev to Dallas
* Peterka, Iginla, and Desnoyers to Detroit

Utah gets a premium player and a young goaltender they've been rumored to be interested in.
Dallas gets a win-now center and a high end defensive prospect.
Detroit gets a young roster player and two premium prospects.

It empties the cupboard in Utah quite a bit. But they're getting the best player in the deal who also fits their existing timeline perfectly.
