Friedman: Dylan Larkin requests trade, Part II

Gonna guess Larkin's value is a bit better than a winger who went from disappointing last year to absolute shit this year.

Honestly it's incredible that STL pulled that for Kyrou. Larkin has his flaws but Kyrou's play was absolutely miserable.
Disappointing in 24/25? What are you talking about.

But he’s not a quitter like guys like Larkin and Debrusk so his value stayed high.

Those fans and media tyoes who didn’t think Larkin was going to demand a big return for Detroit, are shaking in their boots right now. The values have skyrocketed. To the point a Utah deal likely starts with both Desnoyers AND Iginla,

We’ll see, but it’s looking like every trade value of the past is being thrown out the window by NHL GMs.

Is there any team left for Larkin to go to, at this point? LOL
Yzerman can he really expect to do a straight trade for NHL talent for Larkin? Of the deals we have seen over the past 30 hours, it's been player for futures outside of the Kyrou for McMichael and prospects trade where 2 legit nhlers traded teams.

Everything else has been NHL roster player for futures. Samameviech, Brady T., Eklund, Bryram, Nemec.

Yzerman probably has to do an Ott type deal when he moves Larkin to get futures and uses some of those to get a player back in a separate trade. Aka, a 3 way trade.

Doesn't Kyrou have compete issue at times that got him benched? That is a form of quitting. Asking to go to a contender after 11 years of not being anywhere close is not really quitting. Wings weren't on the cusp right now to be competing for a Cup either.

This dude's trade request was the first to come out, and he hasn't been part of the Trading frenzy.

I just know he at home punching air

That is how Yzerman works, he takes everything slow, whether that is good or bad is up to anyone's thoughts on the matter, but he is this way with everything. Can be frustrating, but if he waits it out for something better it could be great.

Dallas, Minny, though Minny is not preferred from Wing's fans side of things.

Dallas has Wyatt and Roope as their top-2 Centers. I don't think they have a need for Larkin but I could be wrong.

Wallstedt, Yurov and Brodin could make a good foundation for a deal IMO.
Flip Yurov++ to Vancouver for Pettersson afterwards and you have a 1C, 2LD, and potential franchise G.

Absolutely not.

We will get something close to the Kyrou deal unfortunately

You really get the sense that Larkin thought he was going to be a higher priority for some of these teams than he actually is. Only Minnesota seems really hot for him and they have trash assets to bring to the table.

We are going to get to a point where he needs to submit a greatly expanded list

Doesn't really matter what they have, they were said to be in on him and Larkin also is apparently good to go there.

Yurov and Brodin are not a good foundation at all and Wallstedt as a main piece also isn't good. Goalies don't have good value, I don't want any goalie as a main piece for Larkin. Yurov hasn't been all that impressive in the KHL or NHL thus far and was a late 1st a good number of years back. Not attractive at all to the Wings as a main piece.

Also, I wanted give up much good for current play and pay of EP.

Eh aside from Florida none of Larkin's preferred destinations have done anything and one can argue that teams like San Jose, New Jersey, St.Louis etc. have if anything acquired the ammunition to go big game hunting.
