Friedman: Dylan Larkin requests trade, Part II

How many centers do they have that are 100% surefire better centers than Larkin in the 2026-27 season?
They already have their answer at C, would you blow premium assets for Larkin if you had Celebrini and Misa to look forward to? Misa's floor is probably 2C, they need to surround what they have with supporting pieces.

Grier isnt building his team 26-27
1 for sure
The other.... Give him another season
Agreed, however if they want to maximize their ability to compete during Celebrini's ELC there's absolutely a need to add legit NHL talent, such as Larkin.

I personally would not bet on Misa being an above average NHL 2C in the next 1-2 seasons. Could happen, but he could also need a season at wing and then a season of just being an okay 2-3C. I don't think Sharks are the top contenders for Larkin but they have guys like Wennberg on the roster for a reason so to say Larkin would be completely unnecessary is a reach imo.

Even if you're right, why do they need an above average 2C now? They have a super elite 1C already anyway. I know people like Centers around here but other positions are important too lol.

If Kyrou got that package, I'd expect Larkin to get something a bit better. But that's pretty much the package. Young significant roster player (top-6 up front or top-4 on defense), a good prospect, and a 1st.
You watch all these trades and conclude the small, soft winger coming off a 46 point season has the same value as Larkin? These trades just show how out to lunch the packages in this thread were earlier. Even wings fans werent asking for enough value
Wonder if Buffalo could convince him to go there.
I know Buffalo as a city gets shit on, but its close to his home andthat team is up and coming. A move for Larkin could put them over the top though, they would have a nice 5 year window and have a lot of assets...

Out west, if Celebrini takes a step forward you could be looking at the Sharks being pretty scary this year or next. The Sharks could also have a nice 5 year window with Larkin carrying the heavier minutes and freeing up Celebrini to put up 140 points lol.

I'm not saying it will happen but having 2 centers like Celebrini and Larkin makes you really good out west pretty fast I think

And you weren't alluding to it?
Some of your fellow Wings fans sure have
No, if anything I think a veteran C could help shelter Misa if he needs time at wing or in an easier 3C role. It does also make it easier to stomach a Misa trade for a top D if that's what it comes to (although maybe Stenberg/Smith/9th overall would be more likely trade assets).
