Detroit fans, and also those who didn’t think Detroit’s return would be very good, should all look at what Florida paid for Brady, and conclude Detroit should do very well in the Larkin deal.
It’s a great example of the difference in leverage as well. Players with 2 years or less and an NMC have tremendous leverage.
Larkin having the 5 years left with a changing NTC that loses that leverage, being arguably a better player than Brady, and obviously playing the more important position, which is much more in demand….. should get more than Ottawa received from Florida.
That’s the overwhelming opinion tonight from scouts and evaluators. If a team thought they were gonna get Larkin at a discount, this Brady trade will likely push them, to either increase their offers, or move on.
Also, some think this trade may help push the Larkin trade to be completed before the draft, as it helps set the value better.
Heating it’s gonna be a fun two weeks coming up. Just heard the Devils might be sniffing around Larkin now too.
