Without Robertson involved I’ve heard something like Bourque, Bichsel, Hemming and at least a 1st
To me that’s a package worth looking at for Detroit. Can flip the first + hemming/Cossa for another C potentially as well. Makes their d-core very strong

Ed-Seider
Bichsel- Faulk
Aljo-Chiarot

ASP gets a year in AHL and comes in for Faulk the following year or they move Faulk now for more forward help/assets that can be flipped

Put yourself in Yzerman's shoes.

You just saw Brady Tkachuk net that type of return. The player you're trying to deal is of similar talent, at a more important position, and has additional remaining years on his cap friendly deal.

Why on Earth would you rush to accept whatever Minnesota is offering?

I could not care less how many teams were on Larkin's original list. He's not getting dealt until there's at least a respectable return.
That’s the funny part in all of this. The media podcast types saying Yzerman’s hand is forced at some point, because it would be too awkward if he had to play opening night.

He’s literally done it before. He waited over a season to trade Drouin, who at the time was considered one of the best young prospects in the sport.

He’s gonna wait until he likes the deal. Now, we can all argue about that deal, and whether it was the right path, but he’s getting his value.

Where do you think he ends up?

i could fathom robo to sens - larko to stars - then a mix of pix n prospects from both sens n stars to detroit , with detroit also sending assets to one or the other in a big production impossible to make trade . with also detroit taking back a bad contract from stars . key peice ide want is the 9th from sens

but thats what i want , who knows if yzermans worried about competing next season and thusly wants a good nhl center back

Who's taking sides? They're both to blame for this mess.
Nah yzermans prospects take time. Never won a lottery and was already telling the fan base from day one it could take years. They refused to listen or just assumed years meant ,3-4. Larkin is the same player he was 5 years ago so he was capped. Seider Ed Raymond all look decent. Kasper and asp are already playing. He probably wanted to bottom out completely but had Larkin around.

If 2 or 3 prospects progress like Ed and seider the wings will be fine. Would have been nice to win a lottery the Laf year just so he could have had his pick of one player.

But it's good this way all these loser Franchise fans telling me how shit Yzerman is after their own franchise won multiple first overall and multiple 2nd overalls.

Who knows maybe NHL will give them the first overall pick next year unless rangers or leafs suck again

I dunno I guess I look at it like, do you really want to spend assets on a 34 year old with a year left on his deal?

To me, that's something you do if you're going for a Cup now. I think Anaheim is still a couple years from being there.
I was responding to a post where Faulk was packaged with Larkin, as part of a larger deal.

And the short answer is that it just depends on cost. A veteran RHD on a reasonable deal with 1-2 years of term is exactly what the ducks need to transition to/mentor the young guys coming up. That is preferable to giving Trouba too much $$ or term and/or overpaying for a guy like Parayko.
Congratulations - you get it more than many ducks fans do.
Would you trade a third round pick for Faulk? Or Helleson for Faulk? I would. To reject acquiring Faulk without any discussion of cost is just silly/reactionary.

Absolutely none of the remaining prospects are trending to be as good as Seider or Raymond. Nor should they since they all have lesser pedigrees to begin with. That's what tends to happen when you load up on mediocre free agents just a few years into a rebuild, dropping your draft stock before you have even half your core in place.

He's been a lousy GM for the last few years. Either he has an outstanding summer to get this mess back on track or he should be fired.

Yes, I would trade a 3rd for Faulk. But the discussion seemed to be a bit larger than that.

It's probably a moot point though because I seem to recall he really didn't want to come to California a few years ago when (I believe) GMBM tried to acquire him. At least that's what I recall. Shame we are even at this point where we are forced to consider a RD who is 34 with one year left on his contract. Maybe Brandon Carlo is available while we are it.

Well Finnie must have sprung up from the ground. Lol the lack of knowledge on prospects is very spot on most boards here so I'm not gonna argue about levels when I know people don't watch them and only look at the stat sheet.

Finnie is a perfectly fine depth forward. He probably ends up on the third line. That doesn't in any way change what I said, because he can be a useful player and still never be as impactful as a PPG winger or a top pairing defenseman.

But please, regale me with another stud in the making.
