still trying to trust the yzerplan
Still a very good young player thats got star potential.Dorofeyev doesn't do much for us without a center worth a shit.

Every fanbase is trying to convince other fan bases like they are the ones doing the dealHow much do you guys respect Elliot Friedman around here?
He said in a podcast that Yzerman would not accept the return Staios got for Brady for Larkin.

No point in wasting time doing that man just laugh at the ridiculous parasocial comments and scenarios some of the jackasses bring up here like they are on the phone "negotiating". Most these people lose negotiations when they buy houses and cars they have no idea what trading or talent evaluation actually looks like.
The return as in all futures? Or a return where the best piece has to be notably better than #9 overall? How much do you guys respect Elliot Friedman around here?

Yeah, I just think that can be interpreted a couple of different ways. I'll probably listen later. He said "nothing against Staios, but Yzerman is not accepting that trade for Larkin." He goes on and says "I'm not saying Brady is better than Larkin, just saying Yzerman would not accept it"
Not exact quote, but that is the basic message. You can click the link and listen for yourself.
Listening now, but the thing I keep hearing is that Yzerman doesn't want futures, so I'd assume the latter.
I mean there's no need to try and convince an opposing fan. Lol they aren't making the deal.I'm not playing armchair GM here. I'm adding context to the Larkin discussion by citing Elliotte Friedman, one of the most credible insiders in hockey, and comparing Yzerman's stance to the return Staios got for Tkachuk.
Nobody knowsSo if Yzerman doesn't want futures and (probably) wants a good enough center replacement (aka somebody that can pay on Detroit's top line), are there even 3 teams in the NHL that would/could meet both of those?

He likely wants players close to making the NHL or existing NHL players as opposed to draft picks. So if Yzerman doesn't want futures and (probably) wants a good enough center replacement (aka somebody that can pay on Detroit's top line), are there even 3 teams in the NHL that would/could meet both of those?

Makes you wonder what was being said in the USA locker rooms. Currently seems to be the center from which all the rumors/activity is coming from.Imagine telling someone 15-20 years ago that captains of Original 6 and Canadian franchises would be requesting trades to Florida and Las Vegas.
My guess is the type of asset.... trading Larkin for a bunch of picks like that... you might as well sell off the rest of the squad too and start the next rebuildListening now, but the thing I keep hearing is that Yzerman doesn't want futures, so I'd assume the latter.
EDIT: I just listened. He essentially said he doesn't THINK Yzerman would take the trade that Ottawa did. Doesn't actually clarify if he's talking about the value or the type of assets received.
I will upd imagine no state income tax plays a roll. And then if you ask Kevyn Adams, palm trees do to.Makes you wonder what was being said in the USA locker rooms. Currently seems to be the center from which all the rumors/activity is coming from.
I don't think you'd need to sell the Seider, Raymond, Edvinsson group, but some of their middling guys they should be selling. My guess is the type of asset.... trading Larkin for a bunch of picks like that... you might as well sell off the rest of the squad too and start the next rebuild
Tho not really any replacement centers on the market for trade or draft..... not really appealing for DRW
Possibly. I think an honest assessment could simply be that folks like Tkachuk/Larkin/Hellebuyck are just tired of not winning and have been convinced that their organizational futures aren't nearly as bright as they might have thought.I will upd imagine no state income tax plays a roll. And then if you ask Kevyn Adams, palm trees do to.
But it’s really not that surprising given the consistency with which teams like the Panthers and Knights contend for the cup. These guys are competitors, they want to go where the optimal chances for a cup run are currently I’d surmise.
Its just going to be very hard to find a center.... teams too good to draft high enough to get a centerI don't think you'd need to sell the Seider, Raymond, Edvinsson group, but some of their middling guys they should be selling.
Yeah. And trying to convince someone to sign with Detroit after their homegrown center skips town thinking that the team has no future, is going to a tough sell. Its just going to be very hard to find a center.... teams too good to draft high enough to get a center
too bad to bring in a center in free agency(not that many of those exist nowadays), prob wont entice people to waive their NMC/NTC to play there anymore.
Its kinda a disaster, unless Yzerman can work some sort of magic
