DW stating next 5 games will dictate more player trades. DW making it known where he stands.

Sounds like its on the players shoulders now. Will be interesting if anyone shows up or goes flat.

I think he really doesn't have a choice. I bet he can't fire Tmac, and even if he could, at this point, he shouldn't. That time has passed. Clean house in the off-season.

So he can't very well say "I'm going to fire Tmac in the off-season, so blow it guys". Worst case he needs value for the guys he has, so getting them to play better benefits him and the team, even in this crap system. So 'it's on the players' is his way of saying 'coach won't be fired, so if you want to make the playoffs show me, otherwise i'm fireselling'.

The best thing we can hope for is Clowe getting back in the line up and getting a few goals in the next few games. That would likely erase most of his negative value issues.

Hopefully they play poorly this week then. I've never wanted to cheer against the Sharks but it is clear that this team isn't a contender. If these next 5 games determine whether we buy or sell at the deadline, I hope the team does poorly and DW makes some moves for the future.

Wait, how did you get clutterbuck? lol

Also, I'm not opposed to trading Niemi. He's been very good but he's not going to do us much good during a rebuild. If good value can be had, go for it. If not, I'm happy with Stalock/Sateri for now.

Marc-Edouard Vlasic ($4.250m) / Brent Burns ($5.760m)
Jason Demers ($1.700m) / Brad Stuart ($3.600m)

Antti Niemi ($3.800m)
Harri Sateri ($0.735m)
RETAINED SALARY TRANSACTIONS (0.104% of upper limit)

Tech un-savy me has no idea how to get rid of Boyle, so I used that workaround.

Another roster, keeping Boyle and assuming Clowe is traded for that top prospect:

Why in god's name are we signing Derek ****ing Roy? Also, Chris Higgins is done.

I tried using the "create a player" and putting in a salary, but then I couldn't move that player around the board.

The idea is that we acquire someone, preferably through free agency, who's cap hit is about 4 million.

Rangers are obsessed with MDZ. They wouldn't trade him for Couture, let alone for Boyle. They're all convinced Boyle is a cap dump.

Why does everyone think Boyle will get traded this season?
I really don't see him being traded till next season if at all.

Seeing how Lindback is doing in Tampa, I'd be quite hesitant to rely on Stalock/Sateri combo to go for a cup run.

sandpaper, more specifically.

The Sharks need some more versatility on their core. Too many soft, perimeter, playmakers. Not enough sandpaper, not enough sniping ability, and probably not enough speed.

Sad thing is, a productive Clowe and Havlat bring a lot of that. Plus, Thornton has a great shot and can obviously play a very physical game. If they brought that, the Sharks would have those things.

You know who has speed, sniping ability, and goes to the net?
