This is HF , probably a cap dumb , Habs would have to give up their #5 to get rid of him.

At that salary you could get another team to take him without having to add, but there wouldn’t be more than a token return. I disagree with those who say he has negative value.

He's a solid 3C who will put up 15 goals and 30-40 points. People saying negative value are off their rocker. It's not a lot of value but it isn't negative (I'm a Habs fan, but I'd guess he's worth a second)

The victim complex is crazy.

Trouble with Dvorak is he makes too much for not really being good at anything. I guess he's decent at faceoffs?

64 games played
10 goals
18 assists
28 points total

16:52 TOI
1:51 PP
PPP 3
13 hits
11.4% Shooting %
FO% 52%

Cap hit 4.45 million per year
Real salary 5.725 million per year
Two years of term left

How much do fans from other fan bases feel Dvorak is worth via trade?
It's really going to depend on the market. I think Montreal was stuck overpaying because of their major need for a middle 6 center when they acquired him. His offensive game hasn't really elevated under MSL and at 27 he kind of is what he is at this point. He's ok defensively, but not as good as people made him out to be a couple years ago either. Probably best used as a 3C, but his cap hit while not absurd, isn't a bargain either for what you get. His actual dollars owed vs his cap hit is also an issue.

Maybe a 3rd round pick.

No one gives up the 5th overall to get rid of a player, and no one asks for a 5th overall to take said player, no matter how maligned he might be.

Most will agree that his value league-wide is very low. He hasn't been great and has often played with fodder for wingers.

Would the Habs like to be free of him? Sure. They're not in a rush though. There's no plan to truly contend in 23-24. No plan to land big fish that would require his removal. I expect they'll ride out his contract another year.

No point dealing him, when you don't need the cap room, nor have an alternative as 3rd line center until maybe a player like Beck develops into one. Moving him probably falls behind Hoffman, Armia, Gallagher, Edmunston in priority. Need to move the useless wingers first, not the average 3rd line center.

He’s making a little under $6 million in salary
He is TERRIBLE at even strength

I mean if faceoffs are important you can find somebody who does is it for 1/3 the price

He's a player who's value is better at the deadline as a UFA. There i can see him getting a 2nd.

At his full cap, can't imagine many teams would give up value. But as a depth piece on a good team, as a UFA, he is valuable.

Using real salary shows how little your evaluation is worth

Bergevin's entire last offseason was just a long, loud crop dust. Panic trade for Dvorak, let Danault walk and sign Hoffman for almost the same money, immediately terrible deals for Armia, Gallagher, Petry (don't blame him as much on the last two to be fair)
Hilarious that his name has been constantly brought up for vacant jobs.

Dvorak has next to no value right now I think he'll have a better year and garner like a 2nd next summer
