Hossa as a rental led Pittsburgh in goals and plus-minus to Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Finals.

But thankfully he bolted once he had the chance in the off season.

Remember this King?

Yes, that's former Leaf, Ranger, North Star, King and Oiler (WHA) Bob Nevin. He was 35 when he arrived in Los Angeles for the 1973-74 season, and it turned out that Nevin still had three productive seasons left in him. In fact, in 1974-75, he led the Kings in points with 72 (including 31 goals). When Bob passed away on September 21, 2020, his Los Angeles linemate Butch Goring tweeted this: "I was lucky enough to play with Nevy on my right side for 3 years as a La King. He was an incredible savvy hockey player and I learned so much from him.He schooled me on a 2 on 1 and gave me tremendous incite into the penalty killing. I was a better player because of him. RIP Bob." I'll always remember him as the guy who scored the series winning overtime goal for the Rangers against the Leafs in 1970-71. Shortly thereafter, Nevin was traded to Minnesota for Bobby Rousseau.

I had a buddy who's crisp brand new Drury flames jersey arrived the day Drury was traded to Buffalo.
Yeah I've seen that. A Habs fan that ordered a Subban jersey and he got it delivered after the trade with the Preds and the same happened to a friend Devils fan after purchasing a Henrique jersey. That's why I like them plain and clean on the back

Won three Stanley Cups with the Canadiens, then spent two seasons in Minnesota, before returning to Montreal to win two more Cups.

And an ironic one. Carcillo was drafted by the Pens but traded before palyed on game. At the ned of his career he signed a PTO with them

A whole bunch of guys the Wings brought in to try to cheaply plug holes in their first camp after the introduction of the salary cap:

Dan Lacouture:

Dan Cleary (before he made the team and settled on #11)

Couldn't find one of Rem Murray.

I've always liked how the Red Wings use the plain font for their preseason jerseys (visible on the Cleary pic here), then save the real font for the regular season - with the arching they do each nameplate has to be custom designed, so I don't blame them for not wanting to waste it on every tryout. It also makes it seem like making the team out of camp is an accomplishment, you're rewarded with a real jersey/nameplate

They could also center the wheel for the training camp jersey as it used to be in the past back when the nameplate was straight.

What's funny too is that every single year during the preseason you'll see stuff on social where a handful of Red Wings fans will say something about how they hate the "new jerseys":laugh:

This one is so weird that I had no idea he was even on the Wings

IIRC, the Wings signed King and a whole bunch of other vets after they secured their affiliation with the Grand Rapids Griffins as they didn't have a ton of veteran depth guys in the system after sharing the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks with Anaheim for 3 years.

King would play for them in the preseason (likely where the photo was taken) but would stay in GR for two years as he had some kind of player/coach role.
