Hiring Travis Green in any capacity outside of slinging chicken fingers has to be the most bone headed thing this organization has done in a while.
He's one of the most overrated coaching personalities in hockey circles today.

Not really by fans, but by people in the business. You think Hynes is overrated? This guy is right up there, and for f***in WHAT?

The IDIOTS in Vancouver were so worried about Seattle hiring his useless frog neck when he was on an expiring deal. So they re-upped him weeks before his contract expired, only to have to fire his USELESS, PASSENGER ass about 5 or 6 weeks into the next season.

f*** him.

I don't care how good the power play was the first 7 or 8 weeks of the season. I have a feeling he controls a lot of our offense (and it's evident Brunette did last year) and it's been neutered and our rush game looks like a pile of shit.

f*** Travis Green.

It's annoying they lay these eggs every few games, but they keep winning more then they lose lately so it's not the end of the world.

Now enjoy pretending like it is the end of the world for the rest of the night.
Problem is the LOSER POINT.

Where teams that lose more than they win, still get those points that STILL keep the Devils at arms length from getting too close in the standings.

Those ADD UP in the end to Missing the playoffs.

Which is why losing these types of games f'n sucks.

Would be nice if Meier could get his game going. Don't even wanna look at his stats the last 10 games or so but man he is useless out there. The play dies on his stick and he doesn't look like he really is playing as hard as he should be. Extremely disappointed with his play but at the same time Ruff has him playing 3rd line minutes and 2nd powerplay unit. He's not put in a role where he can really excel yet not doing himself any favor to get bumped back up the lineup permanently.

Trying to figure out how it is possible that he isn't injured enough to sit out and heal, but injured enough to suck sooo bad.

Coaching can't shut him down and heal? If it is not an injury he is terrible.

What the hell is going on with him. Shut him down if he is f***ing injured...it's so simple.

Imagine you've paid to see the game and you're sitting there enjoying your PB&Js and have to endure that garbage.

Fitz would probably be better than most of the available dreck he could hire sadly
I think you have to go for an "unknown" with a fresh perspective and ideas than some standard NHL retread.

I blame you for the loss. If you were good enough at hockey to score five goals tonight the Devils would have won .

#1 PP in the league.
STILL?

I'm flabbergasted, considering it's been 2 weeks (just about) since our last power play goal.

Even if he's done a good job with the power play, I'm afraid he has more control over our 5 on 5 game/forwards/rush game and Vancouver was a dumpster fire on the rush under him.

We are royally f***ed if he takes over for Ruff, unless the season is already lost.

If he's the replacement plan long term? Ohhhh boy.

I'm not sure he is the replacement plan, but I'm worried there's some semblance of a chance that he might be.

You just don’t get taken seriously as a broadcast when you go full homer though, this is one thing SNY gets, especially with the Met broadcasts. Sure they’re all Met homers but they won’t shy off calling out the team or even players on occasion
I agree, the Devils haven’t had a serious broadcast since Doc and Chico left. but it has been 10+ years of this. Very clear the organization under Harris/Blitzer want no negativity.

(and thus now of our broadcasters, save Sal who can be the most honest, get no real national opps despite broadcasting in Metro NY where all the tv execs live).

Timo needs to be shut down. We’re getting AHL plug contributions from him.

On Dom's model he only has a better net rating than Smith, Mercer (another huge disappointment even if he's better than his ECHL start), Tierney, and Bastian.

Taffoli and Jack probably need to broken up 5 on 5, but there are limited options.

The lines for the first 2 periods are the lines they should be running.

Boudreau is probably the only retread I'd be okay with mainly because he almost always gets immediate results. They don't necessarily pay off long term but if we're in a season is on the line situation...

Surprised we got blown out of the third period. Only trailing by 1, I figured we would tie it up or at least take it down to the wire.
I expected us to come out blazing after the late 2nd period goal.

We played one of our worst periods of the season. Maybe since the Detroit game last month? Which Ruff called the worst game he's seen since he's coached here.

We've had super turtle periods, but the team showed absolutely no push back at all against a team with one win in their last 13 or 14 games and a COLD goalie that had been on the bench the first 2 periods.

That was probably the most disappointing aspect for me. The way we came out or managed to be terrible when it mattered most.

I get they are tired. But that goal where the net was wide open was the most demoralizing shit defense I've seen since the other game against a gutter team.

Also wasting a PP in key moment taking a penalty for no reason.

Timo had a good run when Jack and Nico were out, but before his injury.

My guess he has an injury that isn’t going to get worse, but probably needs surgery to get better.

With the loser point it’s very hard to climb over a lot of teams in front of you, like now where we are in a race with 4 or 5 of them.

The head to head match ups are very important. I hope we have a full and loud house supporting us against Philly.

Timo has become really unlikeable. He had that stupid quote in the beginning of the season sort of shrugging off his mediocre play, now he’s playing piss poor, and he has the demeanor of someone that wishes like he was still back in California…all on a huge contract.

f*** Henrique.

Dude looks like some generic 70s/80s porn star with his dumb facial hair and now receding hair line.

He was much better looking when he was younger and Lou made him keep that shit clean cut.

Conversely, Palmieri looks better with the facial hair and super weird without it.
