GDT: Ducks vs Devils

No finish in the first and the last second penalty sunk this team. Bad coaching not to get them to reset themselves and fall apart.

One of my good friends is a musician. Don't ask what band out of the sake of anonymity, they're a known band, but I'd bet 60-65% of the people on this forum have never heard of them, another 10%-15% of people have probably heard the name, but couldn't tell you a song and maybe 10%-15% would know them. And no, it's not Gaslight Anthem, it's not a New Jersey band, but he's from Jersey.

He's a snowbird to Florida. He's not by me, but he's part of our group that goes to games in Sunrise (he lives much closer to there than he does to me) and he comes up to Tampa when the Devils play here, unless he's on the road touring.

Anyway, that's just his back story. He's a season ticket holder, but has been unable to attend most of the games so far, due to touring, so tonight was only his third home game this year. He also went to the game in Colorado that we lost.

We're 0-4-0 when he attends games this year. Unfortunately, he's off for the next few months, so he'll be attending most of the games for the rest of the season, He gets $15 dollar flights from Palm Beach to Trenton on some pass he's got through Frontier Airlines.

This is only his third home game of the season. He was at the first Capitals game, the game in Colorado and tonight, and there was one other and we lost it. I think it was the Rangers game?

0-4-0 with him in attendance this year.

That's almost as bad as our record against bottom feeders at home this year.

Bratt's penalty late was so dumb and probably killed the game for them even though it was so late, just feels like a childish team this year where they crumble when the game doesn't go slightly to their liking. Also not sure what's up with them at home this year

Been banging the drum on that for years, need some soul searching from Jack to being coached by him. I love him but he's still in that phase where he wants to play "fun and uptempo hockey" imo but he's gonna have it soon with how competitive he is.

I agree but Lindy reminds me of a substitute teacher, he's just around because there's other good alternative + the youth love him.Not gonna get yelling from Lindy, you might get the sour face or annoyance time for timed that's when you know you missed up but in general, nope

Sal was actually giving us the benefit of the doubt and Erika wasn't having it.

1-5 I think? I believe we were something crazy like 9-3 last year. Back to back is a kinda weak excuse especially tonight against the Ducks. We pretty much coasted to an easy win last night.

Maybe it was too easy last night. When the “beautiful game” isn’t clicking you need a work ethic and a plan B. We like to play fast break so much that, if that isn’t there, we have no other plan. Getting to the front of the net, tipping pucks and hunting rebounds needs to be a bigger part of our game.

Plus the misfires in the power play are hurting us. Two more wasted power plays in the first period tonight. How many one timers actually missed the net. Bratt and Timo for sure had open sides. The whole power play looks too nonchalant these days. Too much skating and waiting for Jack and too little touch passing. Everything run from the high left for a shot low right. Change it up.

They are really immature - whether it's with how they handle things mentally, the amount of stupid penalties, the sloppy puck management, lack of attention to detail in the DZ and NZ, etc etc.

The problem is that it's across the lineup, it's not just guys <21.

Something just seems off about this roster, there's individual talent but there's a spark/chemistry that seems to be missing. Then you have this real dumb system...I swear Lindy is the Damon Severson of coaches.

It's all just way too mid to be a real contender.
