The NHL is using outdated info. Nesterenko is a college product and college programs are known for developing their bodies because they only play on weekends. Even our Dev camp roster sheet was using outdated info. When Thrun was interviewed by Stephens at Dev camp, Thrun said he was over 200 lbs and the roster sheet said he was still 190 lbs.

Boston College has Nesternko listed at 6'2 and 185 lbs.

Ill say this, he looked more like the 6'2 185 than 6' 157. Honestly I was just worried he wouldnt have the build to absorb NHL hits, but he looked fine.

Its so weird to me that an organization like the NHL cant get stats updated properly. Like, the kid had to pass a physical to play, how hard is it to enter that info into a DB and have the stats auto update.

The NHL has problems with info systems. Just like the No Trade List thing. It is not that hard, but they are so behind the curve.

@Leonardo87 this is really the only reason to watch the game and Derek Lee has made it easy for you.

PS I don't have a YouTube account (and I'm not getting one) so I won't subscribe but you people should. We should encourage this.

I’m going to be at the next two games (Thank goodness for alcohol, lol), but when I get back to NY, may go this route. As a more positive poster, that Vancouver game really did me in, and I read from you guys this one was even worse?

I got back late from the Rangers game last night, saw the score for the Ducks game which was 3-0 at the time, and said F it, I’m just going to bed. lol.

It’s about time we had someone come forward and give an ounce of effort towards this team on an ‘insider’ perspective.

Definitely blows Dillman and Stephens out of the water. His arrogance is why I stopped my Athletic subscription

I don’t think he is arrogant he is more of a writer. We need someone who is at practices , giving us updates , line combos, who potentially gets scratched, and also try to get injury updates. Dillman and Stephens rarely do that.

I just don’t like that we have to share writers with the Kings.

I am able to make the GDT’s more informative because of Derek Lee. So hopefully this is going in the right direction.

So Nesterenko, Terry, and Zellweger all have been born on Sept 10
Christmas hanky panky

Nesterenko looked like the makings of a solid glue winger. Really liked how ready he was to unleash his shot as well.

I think it has to do with how he responds to inquiring fans. his responses, at least when he actually used twitter to publicize info, gave me the impression he was bothered or annoyed when fans asked questions. I mean, what do you expect? and it's twitter, not in-person haranguing, so it's super easy to ignore.

maybe that was his 'brand' and he didn't really feel that way, but still kinda a dumb brand to have. it's like these people are your customers and you just aren't really providing good customer service.

It had been four years since you were drafted, so you could have opted for free agency if you wanted. The trade obviously occurred. What made this situation right for you in terms of going ahead and signing that entry-level deal?

I had a really good conversation with Pat. He liked my game. He had a lot of belief in me, which was positive. The opportunity with this team obviously. I have a lot of buddies on this team. I train with (Anthony) Stolarz back home. Played with Z (Trevor Zegras) growing up a for a couple years. Couple familiar faces. That was comforting. It made my decision a little easier to sign with Anaheim.

Did you not see a path for you with the Wild? What went into your decision to let them know you were going to take a different path and not sign with them?

I don’t know. Their prospect pool is pretty good. They’re obviously going for a Cup run there. I didn’t see much opportunity getting in the lineup there in the next couple years. More opportunity with Anaheim. My agent and family thought it’d be better to just kind of explore the free agency route. And then once Anaheim traded for me, I looked into that and that was a great fit. Super happy to be here.

The deal has potential to be much better than a late second lottery swing. The odds seem better, anyway.

On a team lacking talent, one with could reign supreme!

Feel like the next step for Lee is for the team to recognize him in some way on twitter, by retweeting him or something. Think I’ve seen them do that for Stephens in the past
I'm more inclined to believe the team prefers Stephens approach rather than somebody who wants to get information out there to the fans. Injured Duck players get disappeared like Chinese citizens. That seems to be more to the team's liking. And Stephens does a great job of playing along.

Agreed. Non-investigative journalists like Stephens are right up their alley
