Just a pit stop so later in life he can tell his family and friends he once played in the NHL.Did not expect him to come straight to Anaheim. Just a pit stop before heading to San Diego?
Thought the same thing lol he’s a big kid???
He's 6-2, 185.
Seems like the team that actually signed him to the contract would know before a third party website? Like... they have the actual contract in front of them, unless they either signed him to an illegal contract, or they relayed the wrong information to the media team for the press release. If it's either of those things, sure makes them look unprofessional and/or incompetent on multiple levels.I don't know, the contract isn't on capfriendly yet
They signed him to a 3 year deal, but one year will be burned this season. Unless teams start wording things like “2-1/4 year deal”So which is right?
The team itself said they signed him to a 3 year deal, not 2.
Nah I trust PuckPedia more here. I’m pretty sure it’s a clear rule that someone his age with his birthday can’t sign a 3 year ELC.Seems like the team that actually signed him to the contract would know before a third party website? Yeah that's weird.I'm not sure how much I love that Verbeek went out and publicly said Nesterenko would be signing an ATO with San Diego this year, then this happened instead. Not bothered by the ELC itself, but it's another log on the fire of "can GMPV actually negotiate?"
Then what I said is still true. If the team reported incorrect terms, that makes them look pretty bad. I mean, they're the ones that actually had him sign the contract. If they can't even be accurate about that... it's not like the publicity team is making things up as they go. They put out whatever the front office gives them.Nah I trust PuckPedia more here. The article linked in the tweet has been updated to a 2 year deal. Then what I said is still true. If the team reported incorrect terms, that makes them look pretty bad. Most people, the Ducks' social team included, probably haven't waded too deep into the contract rules for overagers. Feels like a pretty simple mistake. Then what I said is still true. No, and it's not their job to do so. They simply release what the higher ups give them, which in this case was the wrong information. It's not the end of the world, but just seems pretty dumb. In Nesterenko's case, it went from Verbeek saying he'd be going to SD on an ATO, to him signing a 3-year deal through 24-25, to now what is actually correct. Most people, the Ducks' social team included, probably haven't waded too deep into the contract rules for overagers. Just feel like maybe we shouldn't look too deep into what is a fairly insignificant signing. It's probably just boilerplate draft copy they use and somebody used the wrong one.No, and it's not their job to do so. Replacing Klingberg is a pretty low bar.If he can play in the NHL at all, then the Klingberg experience wasn’t a total bust.
