News Article: Drury signs multi-year extension

Hey Rangers fans I come in peace as another non playoff team.

How does this make you feel as a fan? Excited that he can continue shaping this roster or upset that it seems the players in the locker room are not happy. Or anything else.

Thanks.
A few of the players in the locker room have a hard enough time playing hard on the ice. Maybe they should look in the mirror before trying to do another job as well. ☺️

“Over his tenure, Chris has shown passion for the Rangers, relentless work ethic, and a tireless pursuit of excellence.

Man, if his first four years demonstrates his tireless pursuit of excellence...then I'd hate to see when he purposely tries to destroy this team.

I mean he couldn't have f***ed up this team harder if he tried
Explain? How did he "f*** up" the team.

Before he took over, they were getting railroaded by any good team. After he took over they went to 2 ECF and 3 playoff appearances. This was the first bad season.

Outside of Buchnevich, what move did he make that f***ed up the team?

I know some people will be upset but many people want big changes to the roster. The new deal implies Drury has permission to do what it takes to move some big names if possible.

Whatever ‘big’ means to people can be a lot of different things. Doing things just because can easily make things worse than they already are.

I’m not all that impressed with Drury. I think this past year he’s been as much a part of the problem as Laviolette/Housley’s man on man defensive system which I think is more to blame for the shit year than even production being down almost across the team and the sucky power play.

But anyway if I were to give advice I would tell him to be careful that he doesn’t do too much which I think could very possibly happen. He’s been able to dump large salaried players but with a couple exceptions the additions he’s made haven’t really helped the team be any better. I would have been okay if he had walked the plank too.

LOL, this is not a serious post.

Care to tell me who he brought on board for those runs aside from Trocheck, Quick and his many rental failures?

No way to know if the changes will be positive or negative yet. For right or wrong I think most people want the NYR to move on from some of the nucleus of this team as well as from Lavi/Housley.

Anyone who is ambivalent to Drury hasn't been paying attention or is simply apathetic. Trust me, I'm not dogmatic nor am I such an egotistical asshole that I think only my opinion is right. I'm flexible and malleable and willing to change my opinion.

But there's no defending Drury. At best, he rode the coat-tails of the players Gorton and JD acquired. That's the best thing you can say about him. The worst? Well, let me count the ways...Drury got his job through sneakily and surreptitiously and he's done nothing to make this team any better than how he found it.

He was a disgrace as a captain and he's an incompetent little dictator as an exec.

What a f***ing joke.

That is the way I'm choosing to look at it. Instead of a lame duck GM afraid to make moves Dolan basically just threw him the keys and said go for it. I will not be shocked if we see some big changes.
Yeah and if Drury truly f***s it up Dolan is not going to be afraid to eat whatever money Drury is due. If he cut bait with JD and Gorton I have no doubt he's be willing to do the same with Drury, regardless of whatever he just agreed to pay him.

Let's hope it all works out.

LOL I'm going to wait and see. For some crazy reason I think we may be better to watch next season. Maybe that will change by December but for now I'll stay hopeful 😂

Yeah if we are competing will watch but it has to be good hockey. I’m not going to lie more exited about the Ducks next season think they are going to take the next step. That Carlsson kid looks really good.

For better or worse Drury will 100% own the upcoming coaching and player moves.

Leo better be good. He was the #2 OA pick.... Oh wait lol 😂

Drury did hustle on the ice. Will not be shocking if he seeks more hard working guys.
