Batherson plays exactly the way I play in my beer league.
Are you leading the beer league in scoring?

Batherson is a great player & elite passer especially on the PP. He has made so many great plays this yr & has 52 pts in 65 games, there has only been 13 games where he didn't register a pt. And most consider him having a down season & of course his plus/minus sucks, but he is playing with a rookie centre & with DeBrincat who some also say is having a down season.

With the return of Norris next yr & maybe Formenton along with potentially a few new players this team should be a playoff team next season. This team has most of the pieces already in place & just need to start filling some holes in the bottom six & bottom pairing & in net to be a contender.

I liked Hoffman's offensive instincts, but he had zero hustle in his skating. Batherson is turning into a worse version of him. If Bath is going to cheat defensively, he better be scoring at a rate that Hoff did which he isn't even doing. So frustrating
I thought Hoffman was dumb as a door knob on defense and to a lesser extent offence. He just had a wicked shot

I'm vindicated: always thought his decline in performance must have been injury-related rather than mental.

Would have been nice for him to share this earlier.

Last night, it looked like a switch went off. He was an absolute line driver in a way the DeBrincat can only dream about. He made Pinto look so much better as well who also had a strong game . I appreciate that his ankle takes time to heal, and really, the last couple games he has looked better. But last night he was flying, suddenly.

Can't help but think that the mental side may have been alleviated and some news may be coming shortly...completely baseless but just a gut feeling is all

We made a mistake with him. Just a dead player out there. If he's not being carried then he can't create anything himself
I expect a bounce back next season.

He is getting around the ice much better the last couple of weeks so with a proper off season and reset he will be back to where he can be.

Production wise his contract is fine.

What was the mistake? Drafting him? Signing him for under 5 million. He creates fine. He just doesn’t play defence.

I’ve seen some occasional good defensive effort from him the last few weeks, not consistently but still improved. I honestly think the Hockey Canada stuff has messed with his head.

Seemed like until the last couple months he's been skating better, I think the high ankle sprain was still lingering to start the season to, he said as much afterall.

Big offseason for Drake this year...he really needs to work on his defensive game...too many lost battles, too many fly bys
