I can buy Kucherov's season being more impressive than Draisaitl's but the teammate argument aint it. The gap between McDavid and Point is gargantuan, but so is the gap between Stamkos+Miller+Hedman over, say, RNH+Yamamoto+Nurse. Draisaitl plays the majority of his even strength shifts with some combination of RNH/Hyman/Yamamoto/Foegele/Puljujarvi, only really getting McDavid when the team is in a deficit and we're trying to stack the line to cheat for offense.
Fair enough. To me its more about the context of the numbers they put up since Kucherov's performance was an art ross win over prime McDavid. He had a great team around him to be fair but he still outscored the next closest player by 30 points. Draisaitl was no slouch this season by any means though

Yeah I can buy the outscoring McDavid line of argument for 2019 Kucherov>2023 Draisaitl. Draisaitl's best season for me is 2019-20 anyway where he did the same, dragged the Oilers to playoffs despite McDavid injuries+underperformance, and somehow made Kailer Yamamoto a near PPG player.

Lol The guy just said 21/22 year old McDavid was prime McDavid lol.. then fails to mention Leon Draisaitl had 110 points in like 71 games I. The year he finished ahead of 23 year old McDavid...

There's a difference between prime and peak... He literally had just won 2 art rosses in a row and had 116 points in 78 games. And McDavid was injured the next season and basically had the exact same ppg regardless.

Any way you look at it. Draisaitls season was more impressive than Kucherovs. More goals. Not sure what your point is ? McDavid can outscore anyone anytime if he wanted to. Doesn't matter Kucherov "outscored" a kid who still had 116 points in just 78 games with an absolute horseshit lineup.

Kucherov is now the guy who mops the floor behind McDavid as he skates by. A prime McDavid.

Whatever you say, I've made my point multiple times in this thread already. I'm entitled to my opinion and so are you.

It's not a one way street but I think it's pretty safe to assume McDavid helps his teammates score more points. This has been the case with Maroon, Hyman and Nugent Hopkins. Why wouldn't it play a role in Draisaitl's numbers as well?
Maroon put up similar point totals in Anaheim when he played with Getzlaf and Perry. I would think most 3rd line players could put up 40 points if they get to play on the first line all year no?

RNH played a bunch of time with McDavid in 20-21 when RNH finished with 35 points in 52 games. He actually played more minutes with McDavid 5v5 in 52 games that season (391) than he did with McDavid in 82 games this season (316).

I don't think the McDavid magic is as strong as people think it is....
