Post-Game Talk: Draisaitl is the only hockey player we have right now

I saw the team report card for the game against, I think, New Jersey, and Emberson had the worst grade I've ever seen on one of those...

Him, Kapanen, and Janmark are basically AHL players right now.

Walman definitely makes this team better, which makes me dread how much worse the team would be playing without him. And this is a team that lost to Buffalo, New Jersey without Jack Hughes AND Dougie Hamilton (that would be like no Connor for us...since Ekholm is already out), and barely beat an Islanders team that traded its top Centre and quit on the season.

The GYB guys said they should put him on Leon’s line. The winger they’ve looked for was under their nose all this time! (Except, he wears funny equipment).

I think they need to get Klingberg some games soon if he’s healthy. He might have surpassed Emberson at this time.

And I'm done with knoblach. Guy is in over his head in a bad way. He has no structure. We have went backwards regarding are play. And similar to the previous coaches he is riding mcdrai straight into the ground with all the ice time they get

I wonder if anyone has been saying the team will give up on Skinner since before the season started, and that we'd be better off with another Goaltender?

Of course its not his fault. Its the orgs fault. Here we are over a decade into the McDrai era and we have less capable forwards to be playing topsix on a contender than we had even as far back as Chiarelli.

Podz isn't a great defensive forward either. He's physical, finishes checks and some of his passes work. Playing with Drai or the offensive D on this club some of those passes are going to work.

Its the teams fault they don't have somebody better on the line to play a puck grabbing role and score some. Frederic is probably that correction.

Bottomsix has never worked out for Podkolzin either. In Vancouver the attempt to make him a role player failed. Its why he was a labeled bust and still is. A fire hydrant would have as many goals playing all season with Draisaitl.

It used to be that fire hydrants could get 46 goals when playing with elite players.

Hold me still, I can only get so excited.

It’s akin to suggesting that a player has doubled his scoring output so is 100% better player, “checks stats” and sees said player scored 2 goals instead of 1.

I believe the original poster was listing players that were playing better than they were last year. It was a short list and he was one of the few. That was it. He has the same number of goals and more points than Viktor Arvidsson, more points than Henrique, Skinner and Podz. It looks like he has the fifth highest points total among forwards on the team.

That show how badly they screwed the team up last summer.

Yes. He’s 5th in scoring on a zero offense producing team.

Well done Connor Brown.
