Always nice to get a 5x First-Team All Pro this late in the game (only Lance Alworth and Jerry Rice have more). Even scooped an MVP vote away from Jim Brown in 1958.

5x top-5 finishes in receiving yards (4 top-3 finishes), 4x top-5 finishes in receiving TDs. He was also a slightly above average punter for a few years because why not...

New York Giants star pass catcher, Del Shofner...the lanky end, who set three new records for the Giants in 1961, his first season with the NY club...

In 1960, the only year from '58 to '63 that he wasn't a first-team all-pro, he had serious leg and ankle injuries, as well as ulcers...so he was moved back to defense and then traded to New York.

I’m going to rip out Tony’s soul here, but the Philadelphia Bell select a 5x Pro Bowler, 3x All Pro, 3x Super Bowl winner, given the team he was on, should be in the hall of fame, I don’t know why he’s not, it’s just hard for safeties to get there, but on a whole, he was probably the best player on the 90’s Cowboys defense because his play let Deion run amok.

I’ve been kind of torn on where to go with a traditional fullback because there’s multiple ways to view the position given the times.

Mike Alstott went to 6 pro bowls (5x all pro)
and was among the last of the all-purpose fullbacks. He was kind of the identity of the Tampa Bay offense, which, without him, lacked any at all because the bodies were always changing.

Also, can’t get enough of the creamsicle.

Notre Dame selects Stan Jones the HOF 4-time all-pro at right guard, the position he excelled at, though he played nose tackle for a season later in his career and tackle as a rookie. He is on the Sporting News' 1950's all-decade team and is 17th on the top-100 greatest Chicago Bears, listed as the 4th best lineman in that franchise's long history. He's widely cited as the first NFLer to focus on weight training.
