I mean if that’s all you look for in a prospect which Dom does not.
I have no horse in this race. I haven’t scouting any of these kids. I’m just hoping Don sweeeney and staff make a good selection. Seems like a no brainer top 7 though: Misa, Schaefer, Desnoyers, Hagens, Martone, Frondell, Obrien. Not in any particular order.

And that list doesn't include Eklund who might be the most explosive offensive player in the draft, who plays all out all the time

Not to mention McQueen and second defenseman who could easily break into the top 7

Who do you all like with the two 2nd round picks?
Lou as you know the NFL Draft is Thursday. Please don’t ask questions that overwhelm me ;)

all seriousness I’m going to start putting together my top 100 players on May 1…..get ready for a lot of texts

There are guys I don’t know right now I’ll be banging the table for June 26

A fun part of sports

5. Boston Bruins — James Hagens, C
5-11, 170
Shoots: Left

This would probably be a dream scenario for Boston: take the two-way center from nearby Boston College or the big, Tkachuk-like winger Porter Martone. I’m going with them staying close to home with Hagens in this mock draft. They won with strength down the middle and desperately need to build there moving forward.

6. Seattle Kraken — Porter Martone, RW
6-3, 208
Shoots: Right

Seattle would undoubtedly be thrilled to be able to pick a player like Martone at No. 6 overall. He’s a big, physical winger who plays with an edge. They’re still trying to build something in Seattle and he would be a nice piece to add to their top six long term.

8. Pittsburgh Penguins — Jake O’Brien, C
6-2, 172
Shoots: Right

O’Brien is one of the helium prospects in this draft who has really elevated his stock with a strong performance on a stacked Brantford team (including a couple Blackhawks prospects). He has ideal size for an Eastern Conference team looking to add down the middle, and the Penguins need all the offensive help they can get.

My team barely has any picks, so will be boring. I bought Devils/Canes tix for Friday, game 3

Their going to be late seconds, so I wouldn't mind seeing Sweeney move them for current NHLers if possible oo for 2026 2nd round picks or better, which is a more deeper draft
Why would anyone move this years seconds for next years seconds assuming next years draft is deeper.

In the abstract it seems unlikely. But there are scenarios where strange things happen. A team might really like one player left who they were considering in the first.

But I wouldn't expect it. Sweeney and crew are working really hard on this, so I suspect they will have people they are very interested in when the draft gets into the 50s

How about trading our pick with ducks and fall a couple of spots down and pick up zegras.
That’s a move. I’d consider it. But what if the bruins win the draft. I wouldn’t do anything until the lottery is done. If they get one of the top two picks then how can u consider moving it for Zegras and the 8.

I guess one of Eklund, Martone, Obrien, Mrtka and McQueen will be on the board at 8. Could make some sense. I’m loving the idea of Desnoyers, Hagens, Frondell, Schaefer or misa though. They really seem like some solid prospects. Zegras is pretty under whelming mostly. He has some moments but his numbers have really declined. Plus he is the softest player in the whole wide world.

If Desnoyers wins the memorial cup and shuts down McKenna doing it how high will he go?

If we stay at 5th or 6th then draft for sure. Zegras looks intriguing maybe trade leafs 1st for him?

They are likely trading out of first for two day 2 picks ~ it will be fun to go to a playoff game
