These new lottery rules changed quite a bit it seems. 56% chance for the worst team to drop to 3rd?

Cylons? Skynet?I work on implementing AI systems and I need something more fun to lose sleep over than our society being completely unaware of and unprepared for what is coming over the next half decade.
I might do some diving soon since well we know where our other picks are going to fall. I am sure I will post some stuff. Not a guru but I could educate guess just from coaching experience. Nothing grander than that though! To the prospect gurus: who should we be looking at in later rounds that you like ?
Oh come on, you can't drop that without at least offering a headline or two of what you see coming.I work on implementing AI systems and I need something more fun to lose sleep over than our society being completely unaware of and unprepared for what is coming over the next half decade.

Singularity go brrrOh come on, you can't drop that without at least offering a headline or two of what you see coming.
You don’t view him as a lesser pick positionallg for the bruins tho Lou?would be a homerun for them if Martone was at 6 (if that's their pick).

*taps the sign*IMO NHL front offices shouldn't do anything blindly let alone blindly pick a player because of the position they play. Yes, we need a center for the future but would you, hypothetically, rather use this very valuable pick on a good middle 6 center or a potentially great top line winger? Player comps tend to be silly, but, using Pronman's comps, would you rather have Jason Robertson (Martone), Elias Lindholm (Desnoyers), or Mika Zibanejad (Frondell)? Sounds like you would take either of the centers just because of the position they play...which I would disagree with in this made up scenario. No one knows what these prospects will become or how teams ultimately have them ranked but if the Bruins do have a winger (or defenseman for that matter) clearly ranked ahead of a center, then I hope they take the player they think will make the most impact in the NHL.
No one knows what the NHL roster will look like in 2, 3, 5+ years. If the Bruins sign Eichel next year, suddenly our need for a top center isn't so pressing, is it? Even if they don't sign Eichel, if Martone takes off and his stock increases, then you're better positioned to trade him for a center down the line if needed. You draft the best player you can and figure the rest out later.
PS: Spare me the "hoW CaN yOu tRuSt SwEenEy's rAnKinGs? ThEy aRe gOnNa pIcK sOmE bUm" responses. The draft is a crapshoot and the Bruins have done just fine (if not better than fine) over the last several years considering where they were picking. This narrative is played out and adds nothing to the discussion. (This isn't directed at wintersej but rather all the other folks repeatedly making these comments in pretty much every Bruin prospect thread that was created in the last 10 years).
I disagree. There’s absolutely a positional slant towards top centers when you don’t have one.*taps the sign*
There should be no such thing as "a lesser pick positionally". You take the best player period.
YepI really hope Martone slips to us that would be winning the lottery also.
Slips to what? He won’t go top 5 as far as I can tell. Central scouting has him at 6th and that’s just amongst North American skaters. Could slip to 8. Is he better than frondell, obrien and Desnoyers?I really hope Martone slips to us that would be winning the lottery also.
Some rankings have him high as 4 and 5.Slips to what? He won’t go top 5 as far as I can tell. Central scouting has him at 6th and that’s just amongst North American skaters. Could slip to 8. Is he better than frondell, obrien and Desnoyers?
Yeah the point was if there was a centre also available in the same bracket, dude*taps the sign*

Not that teams would quantify it in terms of percentage points, but if there’s a 5% difference in your projection of player, given where the Bruins are I take the center and give the points. More than that gets weird on either side not to just make the obvious choice.Yeah the point was if there was a centre also available in the same bracket, dude
final rankings ? Show me.Some rankings have him high as 4 and 5.
Agree with Lou - homerunYou don’t view him as a lesser pick positionallg for the bruins tho Lou?
I just hate it when people who know what they are talking about confirm my greatest fears. I worry for us all a bit.I work on implementing AI systems and I need something more fun to lose sleep over than our society being completely unaware of and unprepared for what is coming over the next half decade.
good we deserve whatever happens to us as both Americans and a species.I work on implementing AI systems and I need something more fun to lose sleep over than our society being completely unaware of and unprepared for what is coming over the next half decade.
Hey guys. Just curious if you get 1 Tankathon says you are taking Misa over Schaeffer. Is that anywhere near reality?
Yes why Not a power forward...and a RW they don’t grow in trees...i want Caleb or Frondell but if Martone is available at 6 or 7? He will not!I feel like teams passing on Martone is going to end up like teams passing on the Tkachuk brothers in 2016 and 18.
