Who are the forwards ya’ll like for the second round?

My current favorites are Tracey, Fagemo and Mastrosimone. I’ve heard good things about Farinacci as well.

Rees if you don't think he is a first rounder. I like what I've seen out of Legare too, cannon of a shot.

Also X2 on prospectshifts.com. Big shout out to @Lays for bringing it to the boards attention.

Dorofeyev's MHL stats are pretty insane for his age. Seems like a good gamble for potential upside.

Yeah, and he plays a very mature style of hockey. I think he would be a good pick late in the 1st especially since we need some forward prospects. Our 3 best unsigned forward prospects right now are Virta, Barron and I guess Riley Hughes?

Keep forgetting about Doro

If we keep our picks and get Dallas’ I would take him at 28 without hesitation. And depending on who is there at 19, he’d be on the table for sure.

Kakko, Newhook and Dorofeyev in the 1st round would thrill me to no end.
Kakko and Newhook alone is an insane influx of upside into the organization.

Having Kakko, Kravtsov, Igor, Miller, and Newhook as your top 5 prospects with guys like Lundqvist and Dorofeyev rounding things out is f***ing bonkers.

Also, love how Euro heavy our lineup is. Just, theoretically, if we signed Panarin, we could roll out a top-9 with 8 Euros

Panarin/Zibanejad/Kakko
Kravtsov-Chytil-Buchnevich
Lias-Howden-Fast

Not suggesting these moves just saying it would be cool lol

I fear that Newhook is playing himself into borderline top 10 consideration, and certainly a top 15 prospect.

He’s a bit of a wildcard. He honestly could go anywhere from 10 to the 20s.

His strong play is going to get attention, but I don’t know if it will knock out some of the other players that teams have zeroed in on.

But put me down as someone who would rather be safe than sorry and would be willing to move up with that Jets pick for him. And I would’ve said that before this tournament.

Certainly possible. One team I have my eye on with Newhook is Montreal. I think if he slips down to the 15th pick, Montreal is definitely picking him. Rangers could certainly move ahead of them with all the assets they have.

He's lower on the CS NA skater list, but Max Cajkovic is an interesting kid. Great shot and he can get it off his stick quickly. Isn't completely terrified of getting into the slot and playing around the net and has above average vision as well.

Not sure I see the Rangers going with a project Slovak from the Q in the 2nd round, but you never know. Maybe if he's there with our pick in the 3rd round.

I would almost guarantee the Rangers are trading up from the Jets’ 1st.

I would be surprised if they didn’t.

I would agree that Montreal could be a threat to snag him.

That’s where that final slot position for the Jets pick comes into play. Getting from 18/19 to 14 is easier than getting there from 21. Assuming the Rangers would even want to go down that route.

Just curious as to people's thoughts on this:

At 37, do you take Tobias Bjornfot or Lassi Thomson if you HAVE to take one or the other?

Damn, both would be really nice additions....

I think at this point I would take Bjornfot simply for his all around potential as a steady top 4 defender for years. Thomson is really good offensively and has a similar trajectory, but I think Bjornfot has that capability to take the next step defensively.

I’m of the mind that if the Rangers are going to draft Dmen in the first two rounds, they’v have to be of the boom variety. The Rangers have a lot of potentially solid Dmen in the system. But, they need a few with the upside to be more than just reliable:

Seider is that guy but I'm with @Edge on getting someone like Korczak. Big, RHD shut down guys who won't kill your transition game are really rare and while they won't "Boom" like a more offensively minded guy, I'd argue that they're just as important to have.

Well if Dorofeyev somehow falls....

To add to your list (because I like those players too), Jamieson Rees, Nathan Legare, Nils Hoglander, Patrik Puistola, Ilya Nikolayev, Maxim Cajkovic, Ethan Keppen amongst others I can't think of, ATM.
