Ha, look at all you fools and your false hope. Imagine thinking something like Jack Hughes or Kakko in a Rangers sweater were a real possibility, despite the enormous monetary value it would bring to the league. Look how dumb you all are for thinking the league would actually understand how it could instantly market a NYC-area rivalry with all three teams having a young star to build around.

I think I'll be a happy man if I hear,

"With the 7th pick in the 2019 NHL Draft, the New York Rangers select, Trevor Zegras."

"With the 22nd pick in the 2019 NHL Draft, the New York Rangers select, Bobby Brink."

"With the 28th pick in the 2019 NHL Draft, the New York Rangers select, Pavel Dorofeyev."

"With the 31st pick in the 2019 NHL Draft, the New York Rangers select, Nolan Foote."

"With the 37th pick in the 2019 NHL Draft, the New York Rangers select, Kaedan Korczak."

And we still had to trade up to get him.

14 years later the entire '05 lockout and lottery draft still seriously chaps my ass.

After 7 horrible years of hockey, it was the cherry on top. Felt like I was punched in the gut by Stu Grimson.

And that's not even considering almost a year of building up that draft lottery! Broadway Crosby, where have you gone......

"Okay, it's time to begin the drawings. The 15th overall selection in the 2019 NHL Draft belongs to...the Arizona Coyotes."

"That means Montreal has moved up to the Top 3."

I can already see it.

Then there was the 1st attempt to trade for Lindros. Sakic resigning in Colorado. How many first rounders wiped out by injury or worse?

Yikes. Am beginning to scare myself.

Does anyone who watched last year have a timeline for how long they draw out the draft lottery? I know it "starts" at 8, but when do they actually announce the picks?

Last year it was during a game, spread out across two separate intermissions. It was horrible.

You cannot possibly be serious and say that you wold pass on a Dach, Turcotte or Zegras to take Kaliyef or Caufield or Bring.

my point was shooter first.

i said those were the guys i identified as shooters.

and then i said i would chose dylan cozens over all the shooters mentioned.

so my premise was cozens >all the others i mentioned.

not so much the other shooters over dach or turcotte or even zegras.

cozens>dach>zegras>turcotte

but i do like boldy, brink and caulfield alot however, not more than the above.

i have boldy higher than most and i also have bobby brink higher as well.

my feelings on alex newhook are quite clear

gimme dylan cozens and any of the other mentioned here and im quite happy.

cozens is priority 1 however.

3-7 could be considered a crapshoot, yes. If we drop to 8th though, it could really hurt.
3-7, I think you are looking at one of the names that all of us would be comfortable with (Dach, Byram, Cozens, Turcotte, Zegras). At 8, you are praying for Boldy to be there. At 9, you have hit the next tier and names like Krebs.

Every team in the league can make a list of all the bad luck things that have happened to them, and pretty much every team has nightmare scenarios at the draft, but no one tops our list of 'bad luck'.

We're either due soon, or we'll pay forever for '94.

There is that. Though the usual stuff about passing on Byram was not there. Or how Quinn hates DeAngelo.
Lol, just figured I’d take the chance to bust his chops on lottery day;)

I do agree with him on Cozens, even if I’m slightly leaning more towards the US guys now, specifically Turcotte. I think Turcotte has the better IQ and overall skills and motor package, despite Cozens being the much better goal scorer. I do worry about his teammate utilization and playmaking abilities against more structured systems.

Like I said above, I’m with you on one of the US Cs. The only pick I’m not crazy about here is Foote. He strikes me more as a Lawson Crouse type who will have to redefine his game to find a niche in the NHL. He’s a good juniors scorer, but holy smokes is the kid slow. Apple doesn’t fall far from the tree there.

Korczak isn’t the sexy pick, and I could see people wanting Lassi Thompson there, but I like him a lot. Korczak is already really strong from a physical standpoint and is so smart defensively. I like him because you know he’s having a good game when you never hear his name called. He plays a very quiet, but effective game to neutralize opponent’s attacks, and his ability to defend with his reach will only get better as he grows. Being an above average skater helps too at that size.

Not wishing ill will to anyone, but "This one will last a lifetime" is beginning like it will last a life time. And I would worry if I was the guy holding the "Die in peace" sign when they won.

I still take Byram all things being equal (not top tow picks). Then Cozens. Then honestly, it all blends into Dach, Turcotte, Zegras. Boldy not far behind. All things being equal, when all said is done, I think that it's one of those names

Maybe, but recent history suggests we don't always make picks according to expert rankings.

I could see them taking, for example, Broberg at 9.

If felt sincere at the time. I hate to be the guy that says "come on God, one time". If we win the lottery though, it will literally be "that one time". We have no luck.
