I wonder if Kirby Dach would be this high if he played in the U18s? Don't think Cozen's did himself any favors exposing himself to playing against the best of his peers. It was the same last season, the CHL players that went to the U18 fell while the ones that wasn't available remained at the same spot. If Cozens keeps playing in the CHL and Dach is exposed to tougher opponents at the U18s -- I wouldn't at all be surprised if the two was ranked the other way around by now.

Who knows with Chicago's center position, Toews/Strome is a pretty strong 1-2 punch for a few years to come and they could need some impact players on the wing, Zegras would be exciting for them -- but I definitely think Turcotte is the 3rd best player in this draft.

I heard Mike Harrington of the Buffalo News on the Hockey Central/NHL Network at noon show yesterday or the day before. He said the Sabres are looking a center with their pick at #7.

buffalo looking to pick a center? does that mean casey mittelstadt is no longer the greatest prospect to ever live?

That's probably the most intelligent comment Harrington has ever said. The dude is a clown.

Though I do not see why they need more centers. They should be looking for another winger, at least, unless they're banking on said center to be able to transition easier.

If they take a center this year, they will have taken a center 8 times, in the top 38 picks, over the last 8 years. That includes a pair of centers picked second overall, and one center taken 8th overall.

If my scouts are advising I use a fourth top 10 pick on a center, and after picking 7 others we're still not sold on as pivoting our top three lines, I'm asking them to close their laptops and gearing up to rip some new assholes.

Yeah cozens is gonna fall into like the 11-14 range

Calling it now

The truth of the matter is that a lot of scenarios are possible because lists will vary and you're always going to have one or two guys that are higher on some lists than others. That's how we end up with free-fall scenarios.

Let's use Zegras as an example. Supposedly, he's on the short list for being picked third by the Blackhawks. And yet he very well could end up outside of the top 10 if he ends being the player "just behind" the player that others teams select.

we go kakko/newhook and im good.

I've said from day 1, alex newhook is one of the most underrated players in this draft and only a lit bit behind hughes when it comes to his sublime skating. newhook at BC for no more than 2 yrs and this kid will boom. so much talent there and a future 1C waiting to happen.

i see no need no need to go defense what so over with pick 2.

every time i see gordie clark i throw up a little in my mouth.

I hope we trade Kreider + to get in that 12-15 Range and pick up Arthur Kaliyev.

Best Possible Scenario my 2 cents.

2. KAKKO RW
13. KALIYEV LW
20. NEWHOOK C

I’d be shocked if Kaliyev went before Newhook.

I'm not. I'm firing those scouts

Newhook has been in my top 10 all season and I've always had the belief that if he were in the same scenarios as Turcotte, Zegras and Hughes, he'd be right up there on more lists.
