Eggenberger could be an interesting overager for this draft, started slow for Oshawa but is gearing up now, 6 Points in his last 2 games and shot generation is good (not amazing though.)

Yeah it's weird, i don't get why he was ever considered a 1st rounder but he should have been picked in the mid rounds somewhere.
It sounds like this will be one heck of a draft! Or are we being too exuberant / are wearing rose-colored glasses in the midst of a rebuild? To have two strong back-to-back drafts seems ... unlikely.
Going to leave this here.
Spoke with my best friend that works in the USHL now the other night and we chatted about the upcoming draft prospects for a bit. Working in the USHL, he's watched a lot of game tape of the U18 USNTP team this year. He said that in his opinion that it's the best U18 crop he's seen this decade.
Mentioned that among the amateur scouts he has spoken to, that they all believe that Spencer Knight is the best goalie prospect to ever come through the NTDP. That's of all time, not just lately. Many believe he's a lock to be a 1st rounder.
One thing that surprised me that was brought up is how high Matt Boldy is thought of in a lot of scouting circles. Many think he's going to rise high as the season goes on and will end up a top 5 pick. Comparisons like "the American Pavel Datsyuk" and "a more skilled Rick Nash" were stated to my friend in regards to Boldy.
Take all of that as you will...
Nothing on Turcotte. He's just coming back from injury if I'm not mistaken.I can see all of that happening!! Boldy definitely has shown an elevation to his game and will most definitely rise.
Knight is easily the best goalie of the draft, but out of the development program entirely is a bit bold. I kinda like that, tough, as I do believe he will get selected in the 1st round.
Did your friend mention anything on Zegras or Turcotte?

I agree completely he’s a lot like a Carey Price. Which is why I’ve been so high on the kid and keep saying we gotta use one of these first rounders on him. We can afford to. He’s outstanding
It's almost like a mix of composed and scramble. Price in some components and Pekka with the other. I see more Pekka than Price, though.
I'd say it's a really strong draft inside the top 15 picks. Other than that, it slightly drops off....
Too bad they just used a 2nd on LindbomGoing to leave this here.

I appreciate that assessment. So, outside the top 15, you would say that last year’s draft was stronger?
Any thoughts on Brett Leason? Looked pretty good vs Russia last week.
I'd say so. 20 of the 31 2018 1st round picks already signed their ELC's. Depth wise, it looks better. I'm not so sure if there are more solid, all-around players this year, but have more scoring talent. It'll really come more into fruition during and after the WJC's, but I feel there's more risk after the top 15 or 20.
It's best not to play with Tankathon while the Rangers are in playoff position. With last nights W the Rangers are now 15th on the talkathon site. That equates to a 1% chance at the 1OA and a 3% chance of the top 3.

Well in this range I think a falling Turcotte or York would suffice
Might even be a good reach for Dorofeyev!!

Podkolzin in the top10, Dorofeyev with our 2nd pick in the first round. If that happens, everyone here owes me a beer.
Cole Caufield, Arthur Kaliyev, Philip Broberg can be in this range too. But IMO it's too early for prediction. There are some incoming trades.. If we are planning to trade Zucc and/or Hayes our draft position will be better. And there is The Draft Lottery too... and we never win... is is a destiny.
