If Kaut is truly ok (which i am sure teams would know by now) then Kaut and Wise/Miller would be tremendous late first round picks. I just can't pass up Wahlstrom for a kid who's had 2 concussions in the past 7 months and I wanted Boqvist just as much as anyone else on here before the 2nd concussion.

Apologies if this has been reported, but USA Today's latest from this morning has Noah Dobson to us at 9.

The variety of results are so vast, I'm actually exhausted with the computation of scenarios. The piñata horse of possibilities has been beat to a pulp. It needs to be Friday.

Dobson is another player who has some range. For those who view him as a riser, he slots in potentially as high as fourth.

For those who like him where he was previously, he’s still hovering around that 9 spot.

I’m going to say he goes toward the higher side.

If Zadina goes to Montreal I see him going 4th. If Zadina somehow ends up in Ottawa he could drop to Vancouver? If he's at 9 i'm totally cool with that.

Bob McKenzie said:
If a Canadian – Dobson, Bouchard and perhaps Hayton are the candidates – doesn’t break into the top 5, it would be the first time since 1999 and only the second time in draft history a Canadian hasn’t gone in the top three, let alone top five of the draft.

Let's hope that this happens, but also that this is the only similarity between this year's draft and 1999.

I played college club level hockey, obviously never had what it took to make the pros, but damn, 1999 would have been my draft year and some of those teams would have been better off picking me anyway...

Why would Arizona or anyone after that pass on Zadina?

It’s a strong draft, but it’s all over the map with projections.

You have guys who could go third or potentially slip out of the top 10.

Players who could go in the teens, or in the second round.

You have potentially 4 defensemen who you can claim as first pairing guys, and any of them could be the first defenseman picked.

Two of those defenseman are undersized and represent a bit of the unknown for the modern NHL.

You have 3 guys whose ceiling could be 40 goals in the right situation and if things fell into place.

You have a power forward who could be one of the more unique players in the NHL someday.

I’ve seen guys ranked fifth by people I respect, and a dozen spots lower by others.

You have guys with scary good skills in the teens and lower that could turn out to be the best players in this class if they put it together. Not that the concept itself it rare, just that you usually don’t go into the draft pointing to multiple guys like that.

Really interesting analysis that highlights what this guy thinks to be a low hockey IQ and bad defensive fundamentals from Bouchard. If you like Bouchard, you should probably skip this video.

I remember being so excited for the 2010 draft, but now I'm just nervous.

The legacy of McIlrath.

HATE THIS POST

I have never read as much about prospects or the draft as I have this year and 2010 (Thanks Edge) and in 2010 I was SCREAMING when we passed on Tarasenko. Went out to dinner with co-workers because I was on the road and they were wondering what was wrong... I told them and they just laughed "It's June and hockey is over... don't the NYR suck??? and you're still mad???"

Awful f***ing night

I posted this yesterday. The video doesn't capture the things he does well but it certainly does highlight the things he doesn't do well, and there are clips across multiple games.

The lack of urgency in his own end is a bigger red flag for me than the not knowing where to be. I've seen enough of that over the last few years. Bouchard is AV's dream defenseman.

Massive pass from me. I wouldn't touch him at all.

Delete this!

Pls stop, if that happens again I’ll lose all faith in life and become a hoarder.

Oh, calm your pickles.

Just imagine it's an anti-jinx.

The Bouchard video was posted a little while ago and disssected a bit.

In a nutshell, I’m incredibly leery of a lot of highlight videos — good and bad. I think it’s way too easy to make guys look amazing or like complete clowns.

With regards to that specific video, I can also point out several major problems with the work of the forwards and their positioning which was a significant problem on a rebuilding London team.

If you don’t like Bouchard, you don’t like Bouchard. Just know that some of these videos are made by people just like the ones you argue with on these boards and who selectively pick their samples and try to pass it off as an in-depth, objective, factual presentation.

In other words, beware the echo chambers.

The worst part about the 2010 draft is that I knew what was coming, but I was in denial about it until it actually happened. Then I just sat in stunned silence for 20 minutes after throwing my TV remote against the wall and shattering it.
