Sounds like a lot of complaining that we didn't add a high-end RHD.

Jokes aside, that'd be a coup for this org.

Hell, get that 10th pick somehow.

Get Zadina, get Boqvist, swing big on Kravtsov.

Get a half dozen drinks in me and I'd proclaim that even if we never picked again in the 2018 draft I'd do that.

I'm gonna be frustrated when both Tkachuk and Zadina somehow fall and the Rangers take Tkachuk...

I think something that gets lost in this is the Islanders two picks at 11 and 12, they're going to have some really great prospects to choose from...twice.

We got to get our hands on that Edmonton number 10 pick. It'll be interesting to see what they do if they keep it, Edmonton has only taken three defenseman in the last 30 years in the first round.

If hes the top guy on Montreal's board, just take him at 3.

**** the experts opinions, **** your fan base's opinions, **** my opinion. If you believe in the guy, make him your guy.

Especially in a scenario where you don't want to chance losing your guy.

Kotkaniemi is a wildcard. It's not the same as liking someone like Kravtsov where you can say with reasonable certainty he will be there if you trade down to 8th or so.

Would be MORE than happy with Wahlstrom at nine...

This a very good draft. The Rangers are getting a very good player at #9. One of the CHL D. Wahlstrom. Hughes. Boqvist. One of them will be there. Even if they prefer one player more, they should be able to select a core player for their next core group. Gorton said he wants to build a new Rangers core.

If they take a defensemen at 9, I'd love to see them move up for Farabee in the late teens

Wilde at 25 is also low, if he's there that late, he would be a steal

I want all of the draft picks.

Part of me does, and part of me wants to go really go for it if the opportunity presents itself.

Using the trade chart as an entertaining starting point.

If I can do 9+70 to get to 6 and take Zadina;

And I can do 26+28 to get to 16, take Kravtsov or Farabee or package 16 and 48 to get to 10 to take Boqvist, or stay at 16 and somehow get 10 via a different trade

I'd sacrifice the quantity if it results in Zadina and Boqvist, or Zadina, Boqvist and Kravstov/Farabee.

Because at that point, even if I'm not picking again until the third or fourth round, I've got a legitimate shot at two first line wingers and a number 1 defenseman.

It doesn't sacrifice anything from next year's draft, and I'm walking away with high end talent.

It's gutsy. But I'd take a deep breath and do it.

Kravstov is no longer on Farabee's level in terms of value. He isn't getting past the top 13 or so. If we want him, we have to take him at 9.

If they can pop 2 of the group of Addison, Wise, Tychonick, Berggren, Kaut (if he falls) in rd 2 we goin' sizzler.
God those so many guys I would be fine with them taking in the second it's ridiculous

Bernard-Docker, McLaughin, O'Brien, Lundkvist, Nordgren, Ylonen, Morozov just to name a few in addition to the ones you mentioned

Depending on who comes off the board, I think he goes anywhere from 10-15 --- leaning towards the higher end of that range.

I freely admit I'd be over the moon if we got aggressive and walked away with Zadina at 6, Boqvist at 10 and Farabee in the teens. Those guys are 3rd, 4th and 8th on my list respectively.

I'd probably end up with another child in 9 months or so.

We talk a lot about how teams look at different things, how much of a lottery a draft is — and how the scouting is better today than 10-20 years ago.

With that said, Akil Thomas — for me — over Jonathan Berggren is a huge head scratcher. Because it’s not even close, Berggren is just a vastly better player. AT has nothing that JB doesn’t have, and JB could skate eights around AT in any skating drill.

Look, I could be wrong. Time will tell, AT could come from behind and JB could hit a wall and never get to the next level. But it would surprise me a lot, and if the difference between these two in 7-8 years is as big as I expect it to be it will surely be a sign of very poor and lousy scouting. It’s like having say Zborovsky over Pionk today or something, INEC...

I think if Kravstov wan't Russian, he'd be a sure-fire top 10 selection. Will be shocked if he gets out of the early teens and wouldn't be shocked if sneaks into the top 10.

People are all over the map on Berggren's hands. It's certainly not the energy, frankly it's not even the size. I think people are legitimately unsure if the hands will be there for a top six player.

He's an easy guy to love, but because of that energy and zip, he's also an easy guy to potentially over-project. In a draft with some intriguing options, that's the concern. But I would not bat an eye if he went in the late first and I think most wouldn't either.

I think it's the consistency.

The flashes looked REALLY good. But there was also a lot of forgettable stuff mixed in there. Like Denisenko, that's the difference between being widely viewed as a top 10 pick, versus a likely pick in the teens. From a skill standpoint, they are both right up there with the top prospects.
