If the Rangers hand over #12 (which I think is more likely with them dropping a spot), I think you hope for Martin and Smith with their 2 picks, or someone gets drafted earlier and pushes someone down. It's still possible that Eklund drops to #11 as well, but I wouldn't be betting on it.

I really like Bear as well but that Achilles injury is scary to me.

NYI is likely more interested in a franchise center. Hagens is from the Island. I could easily see them trade down for Hagens. OR, they might choose to draft Schaefer and trade a D-man like Dobson.

I think this muddies the top of the draft significantly. SJ wants Schaefer, I think. Chicago, probably Misa. NYI, probably Hagens.

Winning the lottery was a pipe dream. Ya it would be nice but guaranteeing a top 7/8 pick in this draft was crucial. Winning down the stretch killed that. Some of you morons will be rooting for the pens to finish 12th next year to up their chances at McKenna

In any draft really. Look at NHL draft picks from 9th overall to 12th overall year by year. There's absolute duds and studs in every one.

I don't think there is any chance for O'Brien and very unlikely both Eklund and Martin are available. Would be looking at Mrtka/Lakovic/Smith more now as options.

Yeah I think there has been established a pretty clear top-11 with Schaefer, Misa, Hagens, Martone, Desnoyers, Frondell, Eklund, O'Brien, Martin, Mrtka and McQueen. After 11 it gets a bit murkier, but the top-11 seems pretty consistent in mocks that I've seen.

I just hope that McQueen and Mrtka go before their picks so one of Martin, Eklund or O'Brien falls to the Penguins pick. Honestly I can still see Eklund sliding to the Penguins pick just because he's an undersized winger.

For me, it's always been more so about what he represented. Taking a defensively useless, offensive defenseman who had work ethic issues, when literally the perfect prospect fell to them in Forsberg.

Probably would still hurt to take Pouliot even without the Forsberg factor tossed in, but that Forsberg scenario playing out and Shero STILL opting for Pouliot makes the Pouliot pick such a stupid self-own.
