Man I hope he picks it up, what a terrible start.

Same here. Will always remember how Timmins was so happy he was still available.....it better be for something better than what we are seeing now....

'Cause we passed on Tyler Madden, Wise, Nordgren, Back, SDA, Lauko, Ranta, Keane. Everybody with a hot start except SDA and Wise. Lauko...what a freakin steal by Boston.....

SDA is still getting adjusted after a stellar camp. I still think he is going to be great.

"hot start", nordgren played 3 games, ranta played 2 games and madden played 4 games...
The rest with average start

A start is...a start. Average start for Keane and Lauko? Strange you forgot the 6 points in 7 GAMES of Lauko. And the 9 points in 11 GAMES in Keane.

Haven't kept tabs on Lauko admittedly but 6 points in 7 games - 10th on his team- on the highest scoring offense in the Q is ... the opposite of what I'd call hot for a D+1 lol. Zavgorodniy is off to a better start and he was a 7th pick.

Hes also ignoring the fact that Romanov is having quite the start, and potentially out playong all of them.

Having quite the start? Well he is playing in the KHL, that I agree, is impressive....but that was SO not the point.....We were talking Hillis. I was talking about based on the story we saw on draft day how Timmins seemed unhappy about the deal Bergevin made 'cause he might have lost Cam Hillis. How happy he was when he FINALLY got him. And then, right now, while it's not the end, far from it, Hillis has probably one of the worst start you could see from a top prospect. That's all.

Yeah, that's the thing. I do keep tabs 'cause I liked Lauko at draft day. And the points are there for a kid who just came in the Q. First year. And you are comparing his points while not mentioning he played 8 games while the others played 13. While most guys ahead of him are 98 and 99 born. Trust me, Lauko is having a much hotter start than Hillis.

Hillis has to pick up his game. Big time. As the others have a hottest start than him. That was my only point. No need to try to think that I have already said he was a bust because of it 'cause that's not what I'm saying.

Nothing? But my point wasn't to say how extraordinairy it was....but rather how bad Hillis' start is compared to them?

Well, saying he has a hot start and calling him a freaking steal would make it sound like what he's doing is more than nothing.

I'm not sure why Hillis is having such a bad start, maybe it's lingering effects from his injury. He wasn't my first pick but he was one of my guys, I thought hed be one of the safe guys to have a huge season.

I stand corrected.

@Mrb1p it’s like this. We drafted Kotkaniemi to be a #1C. If he becomes a #1C we will he happy with that pick. Doesn’t matter what anyone else behind him does. Maybe Hughes becomes Paul Coffey, but maybe Boqvist and Dobson bust. If your pick hits, you’re happy.

Yeah don't agree much.
If your first rounder becomes what he's supposed to be, you're going to be in great shape. Just imagine what shape we'd be in, if Tinordi, Beaulieu, Galchenyuk, McCarron, and Scherbak all became what they were supposed to be?

Obviously.

But it doesnt mean those players are worth being picked at that spot. Its all about potential upside and risk.
