Post-Game Talk: Don't worry folks, Andersen won't play tomorrow night.

I HATE all these BS penalties where you barely touch a player and somehow that's called a penalty. Doesn't matter if its in the Leafs favor or not, I just find it completely ruins hockey games these days and I miss the old NHL so much where you can actually have some contact and roughness between opposing players and not have someone get penalized as a result of it.

All the intensity and passion of hockey is getting totally destroyed when refs can't just let players play and mix things up without calling a penalty every few minutes. :shakehead

The game didn't get off to the desired start with the goal that wasn't. The penalties to Rielly (well played by Winnipeg there), Hyman and Keefe didn't help in trying to battle back. Won't mind seeing an opponent on the opposite end of the rink that isn't Winnipeg for tomorrow night's game. That isn't to suggest that Ottawa can be taken lightly. Notching that first SHG of the season was at least a plus.

Can make excuses but hats off to the jets they were the better team.

Clearly need more Hymans, a healthy Matthews wrist, & some goaltending. They should just sit & rest Matthews to nip this injury in the bud instead of letting it linger. I'm not convinced him playing NHL games is ideal for his injury.

We don’t get straight up outplayed too often, but we did tonight. The refs f***ed us too, and Andersen was fairly weak, but the Jets were also the better team tonight.

Overall, one of our weakest efforts all year. We really need to see a much better effort tomorrow. The top line underperformed, Dermott had a pretty bad game, and we just weren’t good as a team.

I’d also give Matthews some rest. Filthy OT goal aside, he clearly hasn’t been himself since returning from injury, just let him rest that wrist. Between now and March 25th we’ve only got 3 games - 1 against Ottawa, then 2 against Calgary. Perfect time to give Matthews 11 days off and let him get healthy.

If Andersen were worth his salt we’d have taken at least 3/6 points and at worst given the Jets only 4/6. Instead we handed the Jets a bunch of points and two dominant performances by our skaters in the first two games went nearly to waste because our starter can’t stop a beach ball.

This was the closest thing to a 'thrown' game I've ever seen. Leafs seemed like they wanted to lose. Of course, I don't think that's the case but the effort tonight was very suspect. Coach is gonna tear them a new one.

It pains me to read all the Andy hate. The guy is playing with a nagging injury of some kind. He's been bailing the team out for years, constantly covering up defensive lapses. He's struggling but the team needs to play MUCH better.

I love and appreciate Freddy and I always will!

Would be nice if we have Murray or Binnington to come up and take the team to another level come playoff time.

Should we give Campbell an extended look??

Yea, Leafs didnt have it tonight for the first time in a while.

Oh well, move on and win tomorrow.

Love Keefe chirping at the ref there. Pretty babyish behaviour from the ref calling the jostling in front with the game on the line just because he got chirped for getting suckered by Ehlers.

If your gonna put the game outta reach as a ref, might as well go all the way.
