Never said he's going to be a bust. He had mono four and a half months ago. He's in his third full season in the OHL I'm saying I would expect his numbers to be a heck of a lot better. It doesn't however mean he's going to be a bust.

Wow attacking me over a comment

Where is the attack?

Hey Jeremy Bracco was 1st star in KIT last game and had 3 pts. He is over 2 ppg in the OHL.

Maybe B's should have made the deal TOR did with PHI and taken Bracco and Dermott.

I do like Senyshyn, but his gaining a 2nd star in the OHL is not an accomplishment. It's an expectation for a 1st rd draft +1 player.

"Slow start" for Barzal. Do tell. I'm sure those 2 games he played were ones you watched intently.

And I'm sure Connor and Konecny both are asking to be sent to JR so they can be 2nd star, since apparently that's a bigger achievement than actually playing in the NHL.

2 games and back to Juniors by definition is a slow start in my book...when we are talking about a no-brainer superstar like Barzal.

I liked Konecny, just think it's fascinating the way the names of the guys who the B's should have drafted instead of Senyshyn changes by the week.

Vesey is 23 and Senyshyn 19. How was Vesey doing at 19

this comp is strictly me

Is he struggling in juniors? He wasn't yesterday

Judging by his output to date, one would have to conclude that he is indeed struggling. I don't know for how long folks can continue to use his illnesses as excuses for his disappointing production.

I recall that, leading up to the 2015 draft, the name of Konecny appeared as frequently as those of Connor and Barzal. Those of White and Svechikov were also mentioned.

For the record, I was always a Konecny guy:

From August 2015:

My problem was always that others still available (Konecny, Barzal, Connor) DID have high end talent and speed. And we passed over them.

Konecny looked absolutely awesome in the games I've seen so far.

October 2015:

Nice production from DeBrusk, Lauzon, etc.

But Konecny, man. Travis Mother ****ing Konecny. Absolutely lighting it up. He was another that I was hoping we'd get.

The post-draft self congratulating going on in here is pretty funny.

How about we just say the bruins have great depth and move on...

FYI if the bruins continue with their strong play you gotta say awesome job Don for staying patient. Vatrano and Miller back soon. This team is looking pretty darn good this year and the future looks bright.

I could care less if we missed on a potential draft pick so do many teams says one Mr Pastaman.

Whether you like the three 2015 1st rounders or not (personally I don't love or hate any of them, all three are kinda "meh"), the fact remains SEVEN players drafted behind them in the 1st round in picks 16-28 have played at least 1 NHL game already. That's a fact, not opinion.

Meanwhile two of Boston's picks (Zboril and Senyshyn) didn't even make the Boston brass flinch about keeping them around into the regular season, matter of fact both were fairly early cuts, so it wasn't like Boston management had pause for thought regarding either.

Debrusk pushed for a job and looks like he might have a decent NHL future.

Thankfully the Bruins found Carlo in the early 2nd.

What? can you please go explore other 29 teams and evaluate their drafting last 5 years....I m pretty confident you will see a similar trend. You win some you lose some. Be happy the bruins have some promising prospects and that they have a Carlo and Pasta playing. Many clubs right now are saying what the f were we thinking.

I was also a Konecny guy bu the had a bad injury if i recall.

Every team will hit on some and fail on others. Its failing to get a contributor for 3 or 4 years like it happened here recently thats concerns me.
I still think Sweeney had a great draft regardless.

I was just stating factual information. 7 guys have played at least 1 NHL game. I didn't say they were bad picks, I'm on the fence on all 3. I wasn't stating opinion, or did you miss that part?

Yes I understand ever team misses out on players drafted behind their spot. Happens every year. I don't need you to educate me in that. Maybe you should try reading a bit closer.

He could

The Vesey though is me I'm sure others will have him like you as Colborne

We can see if one of us is more correct or he's a bust like Lauzon insinuates

Maybe Lauzon will be correct and I'll tip my cap but basing his failure after 2 significant illnesses seems premature

Illness unfortunately has derailed the start to his season. IF Senshyn is legit, a RW of Pastrnak Backes Senshyn would be unreal.

Konecny was mentioned, but Barzal and Connor were the go to guys for the posters that didn't like the Senyshyn pick.

I'm not sure how long someone can use two legit medical issues that affect their training and preparation for weeks prior to the season as an "excuse" for a slow start?

Why don't you tell me

Wait till Hamilton gets traded and/or the Bruins hit on the guys they drafted with them

The excuses and 'but Sweeney could have got more' will be in full force

I wanted 2 of Barzal Connor Konecny White and Senyshyn Carlo in the second if there

I also would have paid Dougie 6/33 to stay but I enjoy bashing him anyways

Anything before the draft?

I said right before the draft zboril, Konecny, or whoever dropped(only had 2 1st at that point) but I'm going to wait a few years until I start patting myself on the back.

I'm not "patting myself on the back"; there's been an insinuation in the thread people talking about Konecny are only doing so more recently because of his success in this season.

Who knows what will happen -- maybe he flames out.

Pat yourself on the back

I'm covered I took 4 guys and I also predicted Dougie was a 15/60 guy so if he wakes up I'm taking credit for that as well:laugh:

I think a lot of us wanted Konecny. When the Flyers got him I was at the B's draft party and said to my kid I was happy because I have always liked the Flyers going back to the Broad Street Bullies and that means get to see him more

Matt Benning I don't believe made Kirk's top 30 and the Bruins didn't sign him because they were so deep at D prospects? (Guesstimate) yet he's already in the NHL while the guy Griffin Reinhardt, Chiarelli traded 16 & 33 (could have been Connor Konecny Barzal White at 16 and Carlo at 33) is in the AHL

Why didn't Sweeney trade Benning for 16 and 33 and he could have had 13-16 and 33,37,42, and 45

I kid but very bizarre

Yeah Konecny was a name half the board wanted for sure.

Yeah him and White were very popular names as well as Connor and Barzal. What I am going to say is that seems to have been a very deep draft producing a lot of quality talent. I am still very high on all 3 of the guys we drafted, Seny seems like the biggest risk player but he makes sense for what they were looking for. Debrusk seems like a player made for the B's and it seems like he is really pushing play down in Providence even if the points haven't been quite stacking up for him yet. Zboril seems like we rushed judgement when he was concentrating on rounding his game out and still could be our top LD in a couple of years. It seems like it's possible all players in question end up decent players.
