Are you kidding me he sold carlo for a possible 2026 1st round pick to go top 20 and a solid prospect fraser minton plus a 4th round pick that's milking the cow to the last drop. That's just one trade go to others ones and see how fleeced them all. I'm still in shock how he pulled all this off.More like doubles... and now we depend upon his atrocious drafting and his mindset of being the smartest in the room to carry the Bruins the next several seasons.

Why do you think Chara chose Boston over more money from LA?
Savard signing, Rask deal.
Drafted Pasta.
Carlo is the most overrated player in the history of the sport. The Leafs got bent over. The Coyle trade and Frederic trades were excellent and one sided.
Carlo was viewed around the league as a high end top 4 right sided defenseman which are extremely valuable, with an extremely friendly contract.
Bruins received a very late 1st and a potential middle six center... fair if anything but hardly a fleecing.
The Seguin trade was an awful case of mismanagement but in that case I kind of get it because Seguin was having fun with Horton's wife (allegedly) and they probably wanted to get him out of town. That said they should have done better than Loui Erickson and Reilly Smith. If they didn't make that trade the locker room probably would have been much worse off and even though Horton's wife, lets be real, really tough to turn down, he probably should have. Had he not done that, who knows where Chia, Sweeney, Claude and the team would be now.Seguin trade was awful, much like the Hamilton trade. Both GM's didn't seem to let a market develop.
I was on the trade Carlo train for 2 years. He's a bum.Carlo is the most overrated player in the history of the sport. The Leafs got bent over.
Fair trade my ***
Chiarelli imploded and became conservative after the Cup win but everything prior was tiers above what Sweeney has been able to do while riding the success of the Chiarelli core.he made demonstribly worse moves though despite having a much better core and starting point. He had a ton of hall of famers in their prime, proceeded to not fix holes, traded the one young near elite center we had for a bag of crap, and overpaid guys that were absolute JAGs
it was a very worthy firing
The Coyle trade and Frederic trades were excellent and one sided. Brazeau was excellent in that Lauko alone was good value in return. These are minor, minor impact trades however.

Marchand trade is for a very distant late 1st round pick. Not much for Marchand.
Every organization makes bad decisions with players and picks. The Bruins are held to a higher standard I guess. The Seguin trade was an awful case of mismanagement but in that case I kind of get it because Seguin was having fun with Horton's wife (allegedly) and they probably wanted to get him out of town. Hamilton I can't remember what bug he had up his ass. I think something to do with family or his brother or something in conjunction with being an RFA but to be honest I never had a problem with the value for him, sadly we all know what the Bruins did with #15 but if you end up taking Connor or Barzal that trade is looked at as a massive heist.
Friedman wrote that Sweeney rushed the Hamilton trade and that other GM's were upset that they weren't informed that Hamilton was available, as they would've made offers. James Mirtle of the Athletic said that other teams offered "much higher" firsts than 15th overall, but Sweeney turned them down. If that's true, my guess is those offers didn't include 2nd round picks. Friedman mentioned that things were very close with Colorado, so they likely offered the 10th overall pick for him.Hamilton I can't remember what bug he had up his ass. Donny hit grand slams on trade deadline this year he deserves to finish this. Good.
I was never a fan, Guy is a butter soft. Him and Coyle gone was an amazing day for me.I was on the trade Carlo train for 2 years. He's a bum.
Well they're held to a higher standard to be fair because they've been down at the bottom of the prospect rankings for years now. Also in the last 9 years can you name 5 free agents that worked out? 3? If other teams are mediocre yet you're holding yourself to a standard that compares to them it breeds mediocrity. Should have sacked Sweeney for someone like Mathieu Darche who comes from a different organization and has been critical to helping build a sustainable winner in Tampa. But he never played with Cam so... boom goes the dynamite.Every organization makes bad decisions with players and picks. The Bruins are held to a higher standard I guess.
I like the current situation we are in. Hire Donskov now and let the good times roll. AGAIN
You can always burn your Bruins jerseys and become a Leafs fanWell that's a great way to spoil a day. First round pick will now be ranked 273rd overall from Bunker Hill Community College
Can you imagine drafting Zboril 10th overall?Friedman wrote that Sweeney rushed the Hamilton trade and that other GM's were upset that they weren't informed that Hamilton was available, as they would've made offers. If we're following this " who gets proper blame/recognition because of what players were still around ", Chia was riding the success of the O'Connell players Bergeron, Krejci and Thomas. At least Sweeney was part of the management team during the Chia years.Chiarelli imploded and became conservative after the Cup win but everything prior was tiers above what Sweeney has been able to do while riding the success of the Chiarelli core.
Yeah when he signed Savard and Chara, made the Thornton deal, traded Kessel for picks, drafted Bergeron, Marchand, Krejci and Lucic and traded Raycroft for Rask, he showed everyone how good he was.Maybe because if you look at things objectively, he built contending rosters for years, including three top tier rosters. The whole thing where if you don't want to fire Sweeney you're satisfied with just making the playoffs is a lame strawman Lou. That's not how it works.
