Something...something...something I went to Paris. Something....something...something I had a good relationship with the veterans. I pretty much dozed off after that. Oh I did wake up a bit when he said he tried to bring MSL on his coaching staff.
Something something about barcelona hockey team?? Lol

Yeah...

Dum Dom woulda given us a real shot at Bedard tho....

:(
Don't worry. Just to name players gone : Petry, Chariot, Lehkonen, Toffoli, Danault, Kulak, Romanov and Weber.
Price won't play, Allen is injury prone.
Hoffman, Armia, Dadonov and Dvorak are not that good. Gallagher, hummm, Gallagher ...
Drouin, maybe he'll be good. Monahan is pretty much done at the age of 29.

I don't see how this team will not pick 5th overall (or bellow).
Unless Suzuki, CC, Slaf and Anderson are pulling the entire team on their shoulders.

In DD's case, I think Gorton came in and then in came Hughes and while they were okay with the losing, I think they saw how bad things were. We all saw how pathetic they were playing. So something had to give, even if they said they planned to keep him.

After Gorton took over Ducharme lead the Habs to a total of 2 wins in 22 games, losing the last 3 games by scores of 7-2, 6-3, and 7-1. They were playing terribly, players like Caufield were struggling, and Ducharme had completely lost the room. Ducharme really gave them no choice.

The situation was too pathetic to continue. This is a team with a great history, they can't keep on losing without doing any change. And we discovered MSL, a great guy and a good coach. He saved Caufield from drowning. That alone is enough.

I’m not so worried about the Forwards. But our Ds are something else, imagine if one D gets injured. We’ll be in historically bad territory.

Sounds like Ducharme made his own grave waiting for Gorton to tell him what to do.

New management comes in, you need to show them you're competent. The fact that you needed new management to tell you that what you were doing wasn't successful just further highlights your incompetence.

You had a historically bad record implementing a certain approach. A new boss comes in because of how bad things are and you don't change your approach...well you're in an idiot.
That sounds like you're insulting his wife.

Can you imagine! DD will be on radio as a "chroniqueur" with Martin Lemay. The man can't even align 2 proper sentences together. Wow... Good thing Julien will also be there... He's articulate...ahahahah... What a pity and a joke... Poor media... C'est vrrrraiment n'importe quoi!

So weird how these career coaches take jobs in the media. Guy Boucher is another exemple. I mean if you were 65 years old and had 3 Stanley Cups to your name then sure why not. But that's not the case. These guys are not done coaching

If I was a career coach and got fired, I'd take any fricking head coaching job I can in the QMJHL/AHL/ECHL/wherever and try to make my way back.

There were a few nuggets of info in the interview regardless of the trashing this thread is mainly about.
Ducharme is friends with MSL and tried to bring him as an assistant coach last summer. Says it was close but MSL wanted to coach his kid another year. (obviously the HC role changed that decision). Claims he has had a couple calls for an Asst coach role in the NHL.
Had no idea Julien was getting fired until the last moment. Brings up Gallagher as a potential captain on his own despite TM chatting up Edmundson. Agrees Suzuki may be a bit young for Captain but also points out the Suzuki plays best under pressure.

My left nut could’ve won the memorial cup with Halifax. DD didn’t have to do anything as that team was stacked. I hate how coaches are hired based on success of an all star team and not by decision making

I feel like, if he wanted to know the direction to go from new management and what the new management wanted. He should have himself asked.

He was supposed to have the opportunitie to value himself, he should have asked expectations from the boss and also tried to sell his view.

As a gm, if a coach never that is clearly not mine and if I do not give him direction and he never ask for them. It is a big strike against him.

If Ducharme was truly competent, he would have seen that and act accordingly. I understand that he felt let down but he is the one that had to sell himself to new management. Gorton had nothing to prove to Ducharme.
Thank you sir! you saved me a reply. Like any employee, it is to him to make his impact. If he dont have the balls to go to his new boss, or in fact arrogant enough not to go, is anyone of us surprised that no player will listen to him or have respect for him?

Literally all of those points were known or had been discussed in here.

Ducharme at this point vying for the Stéphane Waite Desperado Award for grasping at straws in a failed attempt at remaining relevant.

Now back to our regularly scheduled trashing of an attention-starved, clueless mumbler interviewed by a language mangler.

There's more money to be made on RDS than on just about any coaching level in North America other than the NHL.

So if you aren'T going back to the NHL, what's the point of going back to the Q?

Yeah it's so weird people are willing to take a job that pays well for little work that allows them to spend time with their family. Who do they think they are living life with their loved ones.

And not to pick on you but guess what you could do that right now. You can quit your job to pursue a career in coaching by becoming a pee-wee coach and working your way up. Saying if you didn't have to put in any of the initial work to make the NHL you would then put in all the necessary work to maintain/get back to the NHL is a dubious claim.
