I feel like, if he wanted to know the direction to go from new management and what the new management wanted. He should have himself asked.

He was supposed to have the opportunitie to value himself, he should have asked expectations from the boss and also tried to sell his view.

As a gm, if a coach never that is clearly not mine and if I do not give him direction and he never ask for them. It is a big strike against him.

If Ducharme was truly competent, he would have seen that and act accordingly. I understand that he felt let down but he is the one that had to sell himself to new management. Gorton had nothing to prove to Ducharme.

New management comes in, you need to show them you're competent. The fact that you needed new management to tell you that what you were doing wasn't successful just further highlights your incompetence.

You had a historically bad record implementing a certain approach. A new boss comes in because of how bad things are and you don't change your approach...well your an idiot.
