There is nothing wrong with rewarding a guy who outperformed expectations to a nice one year deal.

But I know, everyone over 30 should be traded/released/cleaning towels.

Even worse, he's on the wrong side of 35!! Has to be useless . . .

I agree that some room needs to be made so that the youngsters can play. Moore is not the guy to to move to make that room. He comes cheap. He wants to be here. He had one hell of a good season last year. He can contribute in a number of ways. Solid role player who I would have no problem with coming back for another year. There are vets making far more than Moore who contribute less and need to be shown the door.

He finished 7th among forward on the team in scoring. If he wants to come back at the same rate, there is literally nothing to lose. If he's toast you can bury him with little/no cap implications. He was good in his role last year.

He's a great LH faceoff guy/PK'er on a team loaded with right shot C's.

So we are locked in with Riley Nash who should never play above the 4th line

We add Domo who should never play above the 4th line

Do they keep Schaller, who should never play above the 4th line as well?

Then you have Acciari, Kuraly, Blidh, and others

Man we might be able to field 2 or 3 good 4th lines

It's all about the Cup

We need bodies

Visualizing Chara handing off Cup to Bergeron who gives it to DoMo

What's great about hockey :stanley:

But you can't have exclusively a youth movement on your bottom 6. You need a mix of veteran leadership and stability and youth who are going to grow (and yes, make mistakes). I'm with that other poster, for that veteran role, I'm much happier with DoMo than with Nash or Schaller.

Plus all three would be at 900k and easily denoted with zero cap penalty or claimed on waivers. You never just hand spots to unproven players, you have them beat players out.

While I agree with everything. Who was the best of that group last season? I would put Moore #1 of the players mentioned. Even at the age of 36.

Also think the fact that he's a LH faceoff guy is a big deal.

Too bad Gregory Campbell just retired. He would have fit in perfectly, and he's three years younger than DoMo.;) While we're at it, bring back Jarome, too. He just bought a home in Brookline, so he must want to be in Boston also.

Nash is easily moveable. Same with Schaller. Those cap hits are not detrimental. Can be easily sent down or they will get claimed on waivers.

Thanks, but no thanks. Sean Kuraly should be centering the fourth line next season. Besides, the Bruins need to get younger, not older.

I would take him back in a heartbeat, if the price is right. Good veteran presence on the 4th line that should have some youth to it this year. Unfortunately, we still have Nash for another year and with this many options, I'm not sure we need both. I'm fine with either on the 4th line, but would prefer Moore.

Moore loves living in Cambridge. He also knows the Harvard secret handshake as does our GM.
