Pasta says hi as well!!! :D

Given that it is voted on by the fans, and Marchand won it last year, I would wager Pastrnak if he even comes close to continuing his scoring pace, is likely a shoe in to win his second 7th player award in three seasons.

I'll concede Carlo's another good candidate for Seventh Player. I think his baseline expectations might have been a little bit higher than Moore's, but he's done amazingly well with Chara, and isn't half-bad with the mishmash we currently have.

Pasta's the "people's choice"...I mean, if you took his expectations when he was drafted and told where he was today...then ABSOLUTELY, he exceeds expectations. But he did with the award in his rookie year, when, IMHO, it was most warranted. My expectations with him are high, and he exceeds them...but not as much as Moore exceeds his expectations. That said, people who vote will vote for the "big names".

Lock him up. $2m/year. Best 3rd/4th line player since 2011, but even better, IMO.

One of the few bright spots this year, and doesn't appear to be fading.

The label of "one year mercenary" is nothing more than a distraction from what the award is supposed to be for. People have always talked about all that Dominic Moore does that flies under the radar, and we're seeing it firsthand this season.

If Moore doesn't fit your qualifications, who does? And, I'd appreciate something beyond the predictable, cliche answer of "no one".

Who has said "no one" here?.....

Out of loyalty as a fan I don't see the issue with not voting for the one year mercenary as I mentioned.

If Z returns and Carlo continues on as the force he's been I'd vote for him at this point. If Pastrnak scores 30+ goals I'd vote for him as well for exceeding expectations and carrying the B's offense.

LOL. I'd certainly hope not, considering it's only a quarter of the way through the regular season and only 2 regular players are averaging less time on ice.

I like this signing, good face-off guy and kills penalties.
I like the middle for the forwards:
Bergeron
Krejci
Backes
Moore

Wondering what Vesey was thinking going to NY.

I liked the signing in September and I like it now. But my comment on Vesey can easily be answered. He chose NY because they are a better team.

Unheralded Moore signing proving to be significant for Bruins

Given that the 36-year-old Moore had six goals all of last season for the Rangers, the offense has been a pleasant surprise combined with the usually solid penalty killing and face-off work from the journeyman center.

“That’s the thing when you look at people that step up on different teams every year. Right now, Dom [Dominic Moore], I think he’s at six goals…that’s a lot of goals for a guy that plays mostly fourth line and kills penalties,†said Claude Julien. “He’s a committed player. He’s a veteran player. He knows how to play it, and right now things are going well for him.

“So, when things go well for you, you continue to hang to it as long as you can. He’s been a real good contributor for us, especially when you know that we haven’t been scoring much. He opened the scoring tonight and no doubt probably took a lot of pressure off of our team.â€

You don't overpay for 4th liners. That's what put the Bruins in a financial mess in the first place and played a big part in why we lost Boychuk. It took what 3 years later for us to find a guy who might be a Boychuk replacement in Carlo?

No thanks. Moore is a feel good story but he's also 36. If he gives us a good season, I say resign him for another season, but none of this 'locking up' 36 year olds. We already paid too much term for Backes imo.

In other words, good bargain signing. I'm glad that he has made good. But I wouldn't overreact either. Recall just recently that the Chris Kelly contract was an anchor weight that we couldn't get rid of.
