Impressed with him. DuPont was all over him in years past. He finally got it right with a player. Best pick up of the year for Bs.

WOW I was WRONG here.

Moore has been a great addition to the b's

allow me to PM you my oversized fork to assist in the eating of Crow:laugh:

I had to purchase it after far too many incorrect predictions of a players ability to help the B`s

When's the earliest that someone's clinched the 7th Player Award?

I hopped in this thread specifically for this, since it briefly popped up in my Twitter.

In March, or whenever they open voting for Seventh Player, let's try and drown out the 13 year-old texting fiends who will invariably vote for Bergeron or Rask as the one who "performed most BEYOND expectations". Seriously, Bergeron and Rask's baselines are so high that they shouldn't be able to perform beyond expectation.

I'm not a hockey expert, but Moore's signing came in under my radar. It was a "Who? Oh. Okay. Next?" announcement for me. It had none of the bells and whistles that the Beleskey/Hayes tandem had last year when they were coming to Boston. I expected Moore to be a good fourth line grinder, and hold down the fort.

He's done WAY more than that. Way more than expected. He's not on the current active Bruins Rushmore of Krejci, Rask, Bergeron, and Marchand. He's not an up-and-coming player like Acciari, Vatrano, or Czarnik. But he's done way more than I expected, and currently deserves Seventh Man, hands down.

He is doing well so far, but even Ferraro looked great at first before fading away during the season. So let's hope he keeps it up

Different kind of players . Of course Moore's play could take a nosedive but he has some grit to his game that Ferraro didn't have . Moore has been much more effective than Ferraro ever was in my opinion.

Moore is also a vet with a lot of experience. Knows what to do away from the puck if he isnt scoring etc. Apples/Oranges. I think this is Sweeney's best signing.

Boy am I glad they picked this guy up now....

But man is it concerning that he's a fourth liner and one of the team's top goal scorers.....so assuming he picks up another four to six goals in the duration of the season (I'm assuming he' going to cool off at some point, as most players do), do you bring him back another year or two? Or hope that some of the kids are ready to go at the beginning of next year?

all depends for this fan. Totally depends on whether or not he continues playing this high quality. For as much as I am both shocked and grateful for his play, you don`t sign him to a big contract, if he wants to come back for another year for a slight raise sure.

I expected absolutely nothing from him when the signing announced, pleasant surprise for sure

What's the downside to him being the 3center? Haven't seen on. Smart, motor/compete/responsible , IQ are all there.

think he`s best suited right where he is, I know he`s posted some nice offensive numbers thus far but he`s not a guy who, IMO, can create offense which is something I want from a 3rd line center. I think he`s fine in a 3rd role if he`s spotted there from time to time but he`s not a guy I`d like to see there, IMO, it would create a huge hole on the 4th.

Depending on the point-of-view, you could argue that Moore centering Spooner and Hayes is on the 3rd scoring line now. They may get the 4th most minutes 5 on 5, but they should be (even with 1-goal Jimmy) the 3rd scoring line in terms of scoring potential. Granted, as far as line match-ups go, Julien would likely want to take advantage of the Moore line vs. the other teams weakest line.

The Belesky-Nash-Czarnik line to me seems closer to a traditional 4th line than the current Moore line does.

Moore and Backes have the same amount of points. Let that settle in ;)

Moore has been the best vet signing so far this year. I hope Backes is going prove us why we invested in guy who will be 33 this season. He replaces Eriksson who was our 3rd best forward last year. I want him to be that, hopefully its just his elbow healing but the foot speed and puck handling so far is lacking. I would like to see him with Bergy, he is a better cycle guy for that line. Krech needs Pasta back to get him going.

I don't think I'd give the 7th player award to a one year mercenary.

The label of "one year mercenary" is nothing more than a distraction from what the award is supposed to be for. People have always talked about all that Dominic Moore does that flies under the radar, and we're seeing it firsthand this season.

If Moore doesn't fit your qualifications, who does? And, I'd appreciate something beyond the predictable, cliche answer of "no one".
