I just can't help coming back to "these dudes were all pretty cool last year and Kreider was like the long term franchise player award winner and statesman and sure it wasn't all roses but it was a likeable group that wouldn't quit" to this garbage where I want every single one of them to develop boneitas and stop playing hockey forever

My memory is poor. I did not like the swiss army knife pick of Lias at all but were either considered off the board at that time?
Kravtsov was #13 on Bob McKenzie's board, but I don't even remember him being on this board's radar. I remember Wahlstrom, Farabee, and Dobson being the most wanted players at #9. Bouchard I remember getting lit up and people saying he wasn't a good enough skater to be an NHL'er. There were rumors on draft day of a trade up scenario to grab Tkachuk with Montreal's pick, but that never happened.

Andersson was off the board and ranked #15 or so. Everyone wanted Pettersson, myself included, but didn't expect him to be there at #7. Makar was also a very spirited debate if he was there. Necas and Suzuki were my guys that year.

Exactly. This backwards organization would never give the reins to the kids and let them go through growing pains. It's gotta be some kind of mob-style pecking order to doing things. Duh-velopment.
The kids f***ing sucked. Wherever they are they still suck, and the one that is still here just got a big extension off the back of being with a great vet, and he hasn’t been good since that extension.

The kids would have crashed the car into the lake, which is fine, we would have lotto tickets in the draft so we could maybe at some point land a good one, but it’s not like we have a good front office given the player/personnel moves.

Matthew Schaefer, LHD, Canada (Erie)

James Hagens, C, USA (Boston College)

Porter Martone, RW, Canada (Brampton)

I'm rooting for us to get the first OA pick at this point and I'm not kidding.
Why is Kreider being disrespected.
He's sucked out loud this season. He hasn't been a leader for this team. If he's hurt, he needs to sit and get better.
Vaguely holding a vet accountable for sucking shit through 30+ games of the season isn't disrespect. f*** off.

e: what a f***ing garbage piece of shit article. If that's yours, be f***ing ashamed of your mental midget "reporting".

I would love for Drury to walk into the dressing room and announce to all of them that Lindgren, Kreider, jones have been traded and the coaching staff fired. Then just walk out.
Why are you disrespecting Jones like that? He's one of our best d.

Lav in the locker room after the game : Merry Christmas everyone?
That would be Drury ... and not a question.

I don't think that was disrespecting Kreider, I think he's legit hurt and this was to give him an extended period of time off. At least I hope that's what this is.

I just saw what the devils tweeted about the Rangers. I want every Ranger to see that tweet along with the video they put of MSG during the Hughes draft and feel the same fire that I felt seeing it. The same disrespect that I felt. I know they won’t but it’d be nice.

I don’t watch the post game or follow too much social media post game contact, but I was wondering if anyone has paid attention to how many post game interviews Mika has done since the spiral has started. It seems like he doesn’t really face the media and it’s been maybe fox and Lingren that’s been talking the most.

Im sorry for my lack of posting and not making the GDT’s, but am going through some personal stuff, and my mind is kinda mush now. I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and happy holidays and hopefully will get out of this funk soon.
Merry Christmas and a Healthy, Happy and Prosperous 2025!

I want what I want
Can you imagine how much more relevant hockey as a sport would be if the team in New York had been even halfway decent in the 50s and 60s and 70s? My god...

Then I'd be angry with the leaders of the NHL at the time because before the draft, the system was set up for the Rangers to fail. As much as a team like the Yankees benefitted from the pre-draft system in their league, the Rangers absolutely were at a disadvantage. Since then though, yeah, it's all on the various NYR ownership and front office groups.

I get what @Megustaelhockey is saying about wanting to win a bunch.

Even our Cup win was a one-and-done team of old mercenaries that had Leetch get hot at the right time. They were never winning it outside of that year, and tbh, the organization mostly wasted Leetch's talent.

Not entirely true. They were a cup favorite in '92. '93 season was covered on here as just a mess between injuries, locker room issues and just bad luck. They got f***ed by the lockout in '95. They did end up making a couple of trades for older players to bolster the cup in '94 but Leetch was 25, Zubov 23, Graves 25, Kovalev 20, Beuk 28, Richter 27. Messier was 33 but he was even a +PPG for three more years after. Yeah, they traded Amonte (23) but Matteau was only 24 and Noonan 28. Hell, even Tikkanen was "only" 29 and Nemchinov 30. Where they really f***ed up was '95 onward and the player movement then along with Smith's horrible drafting.

We flipped some states blue there. West Virginia and Kentucky even know what hockey is?

Well since they evidently follow the Rangers....technically no?!?!

Andersson was off the board and ranked #15 or so. Everyone wanted Pettersson, myself included, but didn't expect him to be there at #7. Makar was also a very spirited debate if he was there. Necas and Suzuki were my guys that year.
There were substantiated rumors (From Dreger+) that they tried to trade up for Pettersson but they couldn't get Canucks (aka Linden) to bite. In the end we can talk about early and/or late draft picks. Luck vs drafting profile, etc etc. As a fan, in the end, it doesn't matter why or how. They just need some kind of top end talent out of the draft, especially in a capped league, and they've just failed at doing so. Until they do, it's going to just be more of the same going forward.
