I'm not throwing in buying because at least there's precedent he won't buy unless we're in a position to buy but now we're in a position to sell or stand by.

But this seems to be a popping question. The trouble/rub is that the Metro sucks as much as we do so we never seem to be out of it playoff picture wise. So here's the scenario I'll put forward. Right now we're 5 points out of a playoff spot which is infuriating.

Two more months from now, say on March 1st, if we're 7 points out, do you think Lou sells? Not you, Lord knows I would. I'm asking what you think Lou does. Just trying to judge the confidence here.

There is a caveat to me vote Yes.....
Mgmt should NOT let Lou make any deals without EVERYONE signing off on them - including Roy and whoelse is in upper managment. And the thought process is and should be to rebuild and re-tool. Gain multiple assests so going in to the offseasons, we have opinions.

Lou is still in charge and he has very little history of selling. So unless something happens to change the front office there will be no selling.

We have two posters called “Glory Days” and “Glorydays22”?

And we also have “SI” and “SI90”.

Don’t forget “Seafoam” and “Seabass45.”

It’s the HFIsles equivalent of Pelech/Pulock and Nelson/Nielsen/Nilsson.

Shouldn’t the options be Sells and Stands Pat, not yes and no?

I vote yes, i think lou sells or stands pat.

The Isles will stay in the playoff hunt, not because of their good play, but because the other teams on the cusp in the east will be playing equally bad. Lou will call a press conference right before the trade deadline and say he has "faith in this group" and stand pat. The Isles will just miss out on the payoffs and end up with the 16th pick in the NHL draft. The Rangers will continue to struggle, finish in the bottom 5 and win the Draft Lottery at which point they'll
draft James Hagens.

The team needs to go 26 - 14 - 3 the rest of the way to reach 90 points .That added to our 14 - 18 -7 would end the year
40 -32 - 10.. While 90 points might just be where the Sens end up there is NFW our favorite team pts up 55 points in 43 games. Trade the guys now and max the return . “ Get back in there and sell sell sell “ Randolph Duke ( Trading Places)

We should but I’m guessing no, especially considering how low the point total will be to make the playoffs this year

We desperately need to improve our draft capital and prospect pool

It doesn't matter what he SHOULD do - It matters what he WILL do.

And Lou has pretty much never sold in his career, so basically all evidence points to him NOT selling Nelson/anyone. Add in the fact that selling them pretty much admits to a rebuild. That's something he's never done before so hard to believe that he'd start GMing that way now, especially when he won't be around to see a rebuild come to fruition.

So I'm preparing him to resign Nelson/Palmieri (or let them walk for nothing). The only way I'll believe he's selling anyone...Is if it ACTUALLY HAPPENS.

Short of that I'm prepared to be very disappointed.

I often ask myself, what would the previous GM have done in this situation. Does he sell? Does he retool? Does he rebuild? Does he find some diamonds in the rough? Make some savvy trades or disastrous trades? It would have been interesting but at the very least he would be doing something. Not just saying to himself I believe in this roster over and over and over again. ( and people would still complain regardless but the possibilities would be intriguing)

If I count correctly, the Isles have 21 games after the TDL. Right now the Isles are 5 points out of the last playoff spot. Say that's the case at the deadline - does Lou sell when the team is 5 points out with 21 games left? I think we know the answer to that question....

I have a better question.

How would you feel if you woke up to the headline?

Lou resigns

Pretty damn good I would say. That is unless the names Nelson and Palmieri were attached to the end of that headline.

Maybe he shocks everyone and flips both of them, then uses a portion of the assets to acquire a signed ‘now’ player that can contribute going forward.
