He could. Early returns aren't promising though. On one hand he looks rusty and like his timing/ability to settle bouncing/rolling pucks is off. On the other hand, so far, Killorn has been killing his line's offense and Gauthier is still getting a feel for NHL level play. On the anatomically incorrect third hand, Anaheim's blueline has been really poor at starting breakouts into neutral zone transition play so far and that's killing all four lines at the moment. Fourth hand, the powerplay looks just as shitty as last year and he's been part of the problem so far. Fifth hand Cronin is insisting that every line run a dump and chase system and with Killorn being a turnover machine and Carlsson/Gauthier having less than 60 nhl games between them, it's not working too well.
It's really early though and all of this is subject to change. He has the talent, but it's going to depend on a lot of factors.
