Does Edmonton have the best broadcast team?

Thoroughly enjoying following the Oilers this year, as someone cheering for them it’s awesome watching their games for more than just the on-ice product.

Commentary is always insightful, quirky, light and fun.

What I think really separates them from the rest of the league is knowing when to be homers and when not to be.

When it’s an Edmonton goal or big hit, they come alive, however if it’s a fight or a penalty their more analytical side comes out and they are more neutral.

I catch a lot of games and always enjoy their broadcast. When they play the Senators I always watch their broadcast, even though I like ours too.

I love jack and Louie.

you look at our GDTs though and apparently oilers fans dont like them. I think they are great and better than a lot of other broadcast teams, certainly better than any of the sports net and roger teams.

Lol at least someone likes them. I don’t mind them but I know opposing teams hate the hell out of them. Jack Michaels is like a wrestling announcer. Always hype.

Weird timing since they are playing the team with the best broadcast in the biz, hands down.
Bruins broadcast team is up there for me, but I’m not tuning in to watch their broadcast when they play Ottawa like I will with Edmonton.

Probably second on my list though.

Jack's energy may be an acquired taste, that's subjective of course, personally I think he's great... but regardless of his calling style, he's really fantastic at bringing in Louie and having a conversational style with insight from an ex player, as opposed to two guys just taking turns talking.

He definitely knows what he's doing as a broadcaster, and both of them know when to take a back seat, great chemistry and banter between those two.

They try hard to be so non bias it pisses Oiler fans off lol. Jack Michaels is also the most "over the top" lead guy you can hear.
I've seen it pretty split when it comes to Michaels. Some really like him and some think he's got a nails on a chalkboard kind of voice.

I honestly like the Ranges broadcast the best when it comes to being non biased. They always give credit where credit is due and are a joy to listen to. One of the worst when it comes to that is obviously Boston and Jack Edwards though he does have his moments where he tones it down and actually gives credit once in a while. lol

At least they must be having fun getting to watch McDavid and Draisaitl at the peaks of their powers. That alone would make me excited.

I'm a jack Michaels fan. He's a complete and utter over the top goofball and I'm here for it.

This shit ain't that serious to me.

He just does his best to pump up the play even when it's a near impossible task. (on both sides)

Because of that, Some fellow Oilers fans seem to think he not only has the power to jinx the team, but exercises it frequently.

Jack Michaels is a terrible commentator. He calls hockey like it's a redneck destruction derby.
I don't think he's bad at all but he def does have that radio voice still to me. He tries to inject some emotion into a game which I love seeing.
