Speculation: Does anyone have 2nd thoughts/change of heart about Mrazek?

Does anyone have second thoughts about Mrazek?

  • Yes. I don't care for his game. I'm familiar with what he brings.

streaky is okay for a goal scorer, not a goalie ...unless his hot streak is in the playoffs.
he's either great, or sucks, there is no in between.
 
I'm not going to be flip flopping on the signing when he hasn't played a game? There is no information to consider right now.

they also traded their rookie #1G Nedeljkovic (maybe because nobody could say the last name) after going 15-5-3 with a 1.90 .932 ...other than 6.0' goalies arent building blocks anymore, why? super cheap, and looked/played great for them, and the return SUCKED ...Bernier (who is just as small) and a 3rd and signed for $3mil x 2
it just makes NO sense, unless they think more of Anderson than we do (which i'm sure they must)
funny how they now have 2 ex-Leafs goalies (3 if you count Reimer) that were all run out of town for poor play, and they are considered one of the top defensive teams in the league
 
A goalie like him HAD to be acquired regardless of what I think of this particular goalie. The team couldn't be left with no goaltending solution in hand for the 2022-23 season.

That being said, this acquisition isn't the signing of Cujo or Belfour. It isn't even the acquisition of Freddy Andersen. Let's hope it's at least Bernier.

With less mental gaffes.
 
We have 2 backup goalies. We've been here before and it's never really gone well.

They are rolling the dice that that either Jack or Mrazek is able to do something they've never before done in their careers.

Hopefully they do, but it just doesn't feel like a cup-contending tandem when you imagine them trying to win multiple series against elite goaltending, which it's going to take to win a cup.

Listen. I really like Campbell. He has a lot of personality and is well liked by the players/fans. His acquisition was my favorite Dubas move so far. I was like a few people on this board that thought he might be supplanting Andersen someday, and I'm happy it came true. That being said I understand his limitations, and he's still proving to the world that he's an everyday goalie.

On the other hand I am now questioning the Mrazek signing. I am going to wait and see, but I am starting to lean towards being doubtful. I just never processed his signing, contract, stats, trending, etc. until now. I hope he proves me wrong.
