So we still have an over-the-hill guy like Maholm while Zach Lee is still being babied in the minors.

Yeah I was surprised yesterday when Maholm got the start, I didn't know the Dodgers signed him  but what's up with Zach Lee? I figured they would have him up in the Majors this year.

Lee isn't ready. There is no need to rush a guy like him. They have Beckett (who left a minor league game early yesterday) and Bills coming back in 4 weeks. Lee needs to work on his ability to pitch later in games. He falls apart after 5 innings.

Remember Blake DeWitt, Nate Eovaldi, to name a few?

DeWitt was a scrub. He was basically given away at age 25. He sucked and will always suck while playing in Japan. That was the old regime anyways. Eovaldi earned HanRam.

Who are the over the hill vets you are referring to?

This makes my blood boil:

Matt Kemp to MLB: Hey guys!!! Remember me?

Ever since Kemp made the comment about not being willing to rotate in the outfield really pissed me off. Such a non team player attitude. I really hope he has a piss poor year or the dodgers trade him.

Can you imagine Richards coming out and stating he's not a 4th line player? Damn entitled baseball players.

Why would he rotate? That's absurd. He's a top 3 OF in all of baseball. He was the face of MLB two years ago. That's baseball mentality. You go out in the field and stay out there. Besides, you completely took it out of context. It was never a question of rotation.

He hasn't been healthy since either. You're entitled to your opinion but I don't think he's top 3 in the majors until he proves he can remain healthy again. He's only hit 30+ homers in a season once. He's most likely not even the top OF player on the Dodgers with Puig on the team. Top 3 OF in MLB IMHO are Trout, McCutchen and Adam Jones. Again, if Kemp can stay healthy he could be in the top 3.

maybe I did take the quote wrong, but when I read the following:

"None of us are fourth outfielders. Everybody wants to play every day. I won’t accept that role. I can’t accept that role.â€

That to me, is self centered. The appropriate and obvious response is that he will do what it takes to help the team and that's for Mattingly to decide...or something along those lines. Saying he won't accept that role if the other 3 are playing better than him is crap. Keep that behind the scenes if you are unhappy about not getting a start.

John Calipari the next Lakers coach?

Well atleast NBA titles can't be vacated like Calipari's final fours have been.

The guy is a slime ball NCAA coach and usually those guys fizzle at the pro level because you know, you can't have boosters pay the top players or hire someone to take a test so your illiterate five star future NBA MVP recruit can get into school.

Since the Lakers have a strong pedigree, I say, they should demote or let go of D'Antoni (dude got no ring like Ewing for starters and knows ZERO defense) and hire Byron Scott as a head coach, as a placeholder at worst, chemistry builder at best.

I've never been a fan of D'Antoni being the Lakers coach. I won't put all the blame on him though because, well, look at that roster...
