I emphatically hate Time Warner and find the Lakers and Dodgers to be idiots for abandoning their fans to pursue the almighty dollar. Of course a matter of greed ends up screwing the fans. And this is coming from someone who subscribes to Time Warner and the only reason why is due to AT&T's stupidity. They don't offer the NHL Network or Center Ice on U-Verse. Had they done so, I'd make the switch immediately.

awesome the Dodgers brought back Ross Porter to be the PA for today he was always my second favorite Dodger announcer after Vin

Puig doesn't have enough people grounding him. They're just blowing smoke up his ass. Glad he's being benched. Guy's gotta earn his play time.

Easy fix if you want to ditch TWC... UVerse + Apple TV + Subscribe to GameCenter (instead of Center Ice) = watch all the games you want. HD quality and a fabulous picture - seriously can't tell you're watching it over the internet. NHL GameCenter app is built in to Apple TV, and you can access NHL Vault games on it. You also get the added bonus of getting all Canadian feeds in HD (TSN, TSN Jets, Sportsnet, etc.)

Local games aren't blacked out on Apple TV? I have Gamecenter on my XBOX Live and can never gain access to live Kings games on there.

Oh and Gamecenter would be sooo much better had they included 24/7 coverage of NHL Network on there. They need to take a page from the WWE Network where they have programming going on 24/7, both live and old like the Vault. Oh and they should really add more games to the Vault because it looks like they haven't touched that library since 2007.
 
I read that not only was the Dodger opener unavailable without TWC, but you couldn't listen online either. Tough opening day for all.

you haven't been able to listen online to any baseball game for a few years now, the only way to do it nowadays is to buy the MLB audio package for 20 bucks (at least last year it was)

I bought MLB.TV last year when CBS and TWC had their dispute and used a vpn service and it worked great. Really that's the only way to catch the Dodgers in HD this year.

Still am but I've helped friends out with Uverse where directv isn't an option.

You'd get your local games on FSW. Uverse carries FSW and FSPT if I recall correctly, just not center ice.

If not, there are methods for dealing with blackout restrictions (VPN and services like UnoDNS).

You can watch NHL on the fly on gameCenter but you need a a verizon phone or IPad. keep in mind GameCenter posts game highlights and the condensed games shortly after they end. NHL networks programming isn't something I would miss. That network needs a revamp.

NHL Vault has every game archived for the last several years on PC and through 2010-2011 on Apple TV.

Yep. That's how I'm watching this year. Apple TV + MLB TV. It'll be a cold day before I give TWC my business.

Well, I'm not defending showing up late. I think being late to anything is deplorable. But Don Mattingly did push batting practice forward by 30 minutes and simply sent out texts to his players to tell them. 3 Players did not ever get a text, including Puig. According to Bowden there was another Dodger who didn't get the text who showed up late but he's gone nameless. Chicken **** management by Don Mattingly if you ask me. For an old school tough guy type baseball guy he didn't help anyone by up and changing things and not do his due diligence in getting everyone involved.

Honestly, I believe Mattingly wants Puig in the minors to grow up and learn some respect for the game. The way he talks about Puig simply isn't fair and it's gone so far that Magic has had to use the media to side with Puig over Mattingly in how Don treats him. I'm not a conspiracy theorist but with Matt Kemp wanting to play and being activated I half think that Don purposely omitted Puig from the text knowing that Puig wouldn't go out of his way to find out what the daily agenda was.

man, I thought that was Ross Porter's voice. He really grew into the role of broadcaster and he became very good at it - the way the Dodgers let him go was just terrible.

So it was just for today as PA announcer?

unfortunately it was only for the Opening Day ceremonies, I would love for the Dodgers to bring him back in some commentating capacity
