For the terms suggested: No way. Without causing us too much contractual issues or significant youth? Yes. Georgie + Nils + etc.

I feel like Dubois gets a bum rap because hes been honest with his teams about what he wants to do in free agency. Islanders fans despise Tavares for pretending he loved it on LI then bolting. PLD played like a sack of shit toward the end of his time with Torts in CBJ but hes hardly the first guy to do that. He's produced well for a highly dysfunctional Winnipeg team since he got there.

He's getting a bum rap because he's forcing his way off teams..and when he's not happy,you get that glorious "f*** this" shift in game that Torts benched his ass for.Keep that diva away from here

Funny, trouba never quit on his teammates even while he asked for a trade for years, he continues to play to the best of his ability.

And fox never had a contract with anyone. He just told teams he wasn't interested in signing which was his right.

Pld literally just quit in game on his teammates. f*** that guy

What the Kings gave for Fiala is all I'd pay - first and a B prospect. The guy will walk in two years.

Even then, I'm reluctant. Our cap situation is pretty tight.

Maybe I don't know PLD enough from what I saw of him playing, I know he got skill and puts up points, decent size, but I think come playoff time he'd be another perimeter player not willing to get their nose dirty.

I'll gladly be wrong, but to be honest - I don't want Kakko going, nor Schneider, nor Chytil. I don't mind being in the minority but it's hard stop for me if either of those are involved.

Love em or hate em, you know what really gets Torts animated? Players who don't hustle. (along with a million other things lol)

I'd rather pass.

While Im not a PLD expert your playoff description was the opposite of what I saw on CBJ. CBJ was relying totally on their goalie. I was impressed that PLD was fighting 1 against 3 behind the other teams goalie. He was playing heavy in the one playoff series I saw.

Sure, maybe I didn't see enough then - because I didn't see that or similar. All good - I would certainly hope that I'm wrong if he were to land here.

edit: even if I'm 100% wrong on the guy, wouldn't want any of the kids being talked about to go in a trade to land him all the same.

Producing well is being outscored 33 points by his linemate? Dubois has hit 60 points twice in his career. Once with Kyle Connor, and once with Artemi Panarin

Blake Wheeler outscored him this season. Wheeler is 35. Dubois is 24. Andrew Copp also outscored him. So did every other decent player on the Jets (Scheif+Ehlers)

I’d much rather pay a 2nd for Iafallo or Fabbri

Copp scored 53 points combined for the Jets & Rangers. PLD had 60.

Well keep in mind PLD isnt much older than Chytil. I think he had 10 points in 10 playoff games a couple of years ago when they upset the MapleLeafs

I’m surprised by the articles I’ve read that Dubois will actually cost more than Schiefle and I’m not really sure why, if that’s the case go after Schiefle or find a cheaper option in free agency as a short term fix till a bigger name or better deal becomes available .

i’m not really sure where you got this idea? PLD is definitely not a perimeter player

he’s definitely a player that inconsistently gives a shit but that is literally every tough guy that can play. literally all of them
