Lilijgren should be given a shot in a top 4 role.
If he works he can be a secondary core support piece moving forward, similar to hjalmarsson, Martinez were for the Hawks and kings (not that I expect that much success for the leafs)
Sandin I think needs to have a hig year if he wants to prove he's part of the core. We have another skilled PP QV type D coming in niemela who while is a RHS he has similar high end passing and vision as Sandin which makes him a bit redundant
Muzzin and Brodie and Gio are here for two more years each so it seems pretty sure that he won't be a top 4D until then in terms of usage. He just needs to become a top4D caliber player so that way he can be used in case any LTIR or unexpected moves occur two those 3
Rielly is the only D-man who should be here as long as he wants.
Everyone else could be moved based on role/age/contract/value to progress the contention years etc.
Well my ideal plan is free up muzzin and brodie cap space and use Sandin to bring in young Jakob Chychrun to fix our problem of having pathetic shots from the point.
I keep hearing how Dubas is a genius so let him do some work for once with that cap space back, fixing our defensive issues of being too weak around the net and along the boards (what remains after jakob trade + muzzin/kerfoot/holl etc gone).
Man your the first person I've seen who called out Brodie for vetting walked by Nick Paul
I didn't watch game 7 but when I saw the highlights a few weeks later I was simply astonished how crapply Brodie defende that.
Even in the reg season noticed Brodies defense wasn't as consistent as last year.
Yeah Campbell could have saved that but the shot was easily surpressable and to let Paul get into the slot when your supposed to be our best defensive defenseman in game 7 deserves to be talked more
