The guy is one of the top hitters in the league. Let them drink their haterade and choke..oh wait it's the Sharks fan base who was complaining and they're used to choking come playoff time so.......if it walks like duck, talks like a duck..

Doesn't that say something though?

Homer glasses are a real thing. When Fowler hurt his knee from that Pejorative Slur Bordeleau I was seeing red. I hated the fact that some idiot who's sole reason for being on the ice is to take someone out hurt our best defender. I still see him that way even though I'm sure many would disagree with me.

I think of Brown as just stupid. I dont think he is "dirty" in the Neal-knee-to-the-head way. He just makes reckless hits that have consequences and homer glasses have an effect on both Kings fans in defending him and the fans of the player he hurt to act like Brown did it on purpose.

Guys, our rival fans said we are being homers yet they are judging without bias whatsoever. Lol. Cracks me up every single time I read a post like that.

I hope you were not referring to my post above because that's not what I said at all...

Borderline dirty. Definitely reckless. I really think he wouldn't draw as much ire from other fan bases if he wasn't flopping around like fish out of water all the time while wearing the captains C. If he chose to back up his actions more people would respect that a lot more. Cmon you can't even fight Tommy Wingels...

I didn't vote.

fair enough, but I will say that I can't recall Brown diving this year. If he has, it's been outweighed by the flat-out beatings he's taken and the non-calls because of that rep he's earned. He has soldiered up and fought through a lot more this year than opposing fans will ever give him credit for because everyone has made their minds up.

He doesn't back up his actions because fighting over a clean hit (edit: what he felt was an accident) is stupid, yet you've seen him fight Doan, Pavelski recently off the top of my head. Fighting Tommy Wingels over a clean hit a game later is stupid and a bad tradeoff (maybe not as per his play this year but in years past would you want your first-line winger fighting another team's third liner?).

I'm not going to comment over what kind of player Dustin Brown is. I will say a common thing about sports fans though. Nobody ever likes a player that is "dirty" "reckless" "headcase" or whatever unless that player is playing for the same team he/she is a fan of. They're exceptions of course but the Torres trade from Phoenix to San Jose is a perfect example seeing how so many Sharks Fans who have come to hate Torres over the years now like him. I'm sure that if Dustin Brown went to another team(if he does of course) that any fans of a Non-Kings Team who hate him will come to love him overtime.

I basically agree with you on this. Your right that the haters would not all of a sudden love Brown if went to a another team but I do think a certain percentage of haters might hate him less, perhaps even tolerate him.

I firmly believe that there is a segment of fans who are more accepting of rough, even boderline, play from certain teams. In the mind of these fans certain teams are tough and gritty and hit hard and other teams are "soft". When you get a guy like Brown on one of the historically "tough teams" his play is to be expected. When he is on one of the "soft", (and lets face, it some will view any West Coast team a "soft" as some will with any "newer" or "nontraditional market" team) those people hate it.

Compared to whom?

To Doan? Not even close.

To Torres? Brown is the white knight compared to that pile of garbage.

I mean if Brown is dirty then he is at the bottom of the entire list of dirty players.

Brown isn't dirty.
